Job summary

Johnson Controls in Bangalore seeks an experienced EHS/Safety Officer to oversee Environment, Health & Safety compliance for IBMS projects across Bangalore. You will implement safety programs, conduct site inspections, ensure statutory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture on project sites.

The role requires 3–8 years in EHS/Safety management, with knowledge of IBMS/BMS, electrical safety, PTW systems, hazardous materials handling, and construction/site environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
• Diploma/certification in industrial safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of EHS policies at project sites.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with statutory, client, and company safety requirements.
• Develop JSA, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper PPE use by personnel.
• Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and compliance docs.
• Coordinate with managers, engineers, contractors and customers on safety.
• Monitor emergency preparedness and response plans.
• Promote zero-harm safety culture.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS / Safety Officer to support and oversee Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance for IBMS (Integrated Building Management System) projects across Bangalore. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety programs, conducting site inspections, ensuring statutory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and safety standards at project sites.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments for IBMS project activities.
• Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with statutory, client, and company safety requirements.
• Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Method Statements, and Risk Assessment documents.
• Conduct safety induction programs, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel at site.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, and customers on safety-related matters.
• Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor emergency preparedness and response plans at project sites.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and industry standards.
• Promote a proactive safety culture and zero-harm environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification preferred.

Experience Required

• 3 to 8 years of experience in EHS/Safety management.
• Experience in IBMS, BMS, Building Automation, MEP, HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Construction, or Infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience managing safety requirements at project and construction sites.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and contractor safety management.
