Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced EHS professional with a strong background in lifting and crane safety to manage environmental health and safety on regional projects. The role focuses on risk assessments, documentation, and ensuring compliance across sites.

The ideal candidate will lead incident investigations, develop SWMS and lifting plans, and travel to site locations as required to uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in an EHS role focused on lifting and hoisting equipment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, safety compliance and risk management.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and JHAs for lifting operations.
• Ability to prepare EHS documents (site EHS plan, SWMS, lifting plan) per customer requirements.
• Lead accident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Travel to regional project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Lead the safety program on projects involving cranes and lifting operations.
• Prepare and deliver EHS plans and lifting plans to customers.

1. Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Electrical /Mechanical with Diploma in safety from recognized university /board(ADIS/MSBTE/NEBOSH).
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in an EHS Role and experience in focused on lifting and hoisting equipment, with a strong background in environmental regulations, safety compliance and risk management.
3. Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for lifting operations and other activities to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures.
4. Ability to prepare site EHS Plan, SWMS, Lifting plan and all other EHS related documents as per the customer requirements.
5. Strong knowledge in industrial projects with Crane & Lifting safety and ability to prepare & deliver the Lifting plan individually to customer.
6. Ensure that lifting operations are planned, executed, and monitored to minimize risks such as overloading, improper rigging, and unsafe working conditions
7. Lead the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
8. Prepare detailed incident reports and provide recommendations for improving safety practices to prevent future incidents
9. Promote safety awareness and ensure that employees adhere to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures
10. Ability to travel regional project sites as required, including site visits and inspections.
11. Ability to handle the client and demonstrate the safety standards implemented at project sites.
