Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited is seeking an EHS professional to drive occupational health risk assessment, accident investigation and environmental awareness on construction projects in Bhuj, Gujarat, India.

You will implement EHS management systems, establish workplace requirements, train site teams, inspect PPE, report incidents, and coordinate with project teams to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing EHS management systems.
• Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Strong capability to train site teams on safety.
• Proficient in PPE and safety equipment inspections.

Job Description

• Implementation of EHS Management system at project
• Establish EHS requirements at workplace
• Strict implementation of EHS plan and cardinal safety rules.
• Identify Hazards at sites and take action to eliminate hazards on daily basis.
• Training of all site teams to identify and eliminate Hazards.
• Inspect the quality of PPEs and safety gadgets.
• Reporting of UA / UC / Near miss / First aid / Dangerous occurrences on daily basis.
• Encourage site team for reporting of UA / UC / Near miss.
• Reporting of Fatality as per the protocol
• Conduct project related inspection on a weekly or daily basis.
• Ensure daily pep talk by site team
• Provide requirements of Safety Stewards based on site requirement to Lead EHS as and when required at all sites and ensure deployment.
• Monitor the safety steward activity daily.
• Identify the training needs, schedule the training and impart training to staff, visitors, sub-contractors and workmen.
• Monitor the compliance of legal requirements at the worksite.
• Conduct and participate in the EHS committee activities.
• Prepare of EHS risk assessment and facilitate safe operating procedures.
• Prepare site emergency response plan and conduct periodic mock drill at sites.
• Conduct periodical inspection of sites, labor camps, site offices and site stores, identify the safety issues, analyze the incident trends and initiate necessary corrective and preventive action at site.
• Closely co-ordinate with P&M team for periodical inspection of all equipment at site.
• Review and appraise site EHS performance and facilitate for improvement.
• Work in coordination with the project team.
• Facilitate the implementation of work permit system.
• Update the site-specific SOP’s to meet the site-specific requirements.
• Preparation of site EHS statistics and reporting it to Lead EHS on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Timely reporting of EHS deviations to project manager for continual improvement.
• Organize campaigns, competitions and other special emphasis programs to promote EHS at workplace.
• Implement the Digital Initiatives.
• Inspection of fire extinguishers on a periodical basis.
