Job summary

MAN Truck & Bus India is seeking an experienced EV/HV engineer for a permanent, hybrid role in Pune. You will lead high-voltage system integration, work with suppliers, and ensure safety and compliance across HW/SW for electric commercial vehicles.

Qualifications

• Experience in electric commercial vehicles / high-voltage EV platforms is advantageous.
• Hands-on HV systems and vehicle integration with end-to-end component management.
• Understand HV energy path: battery, BDU/PDU, pre-charge, DC link, inverter, MCU/VCU/OBC.
• Knowledge of BMS, VCU, MCU, OBC, DC/DC interactions and diagnostics.
• Software development, automotive networks, and diagnostics know-how.
• Experience with supplier management and change management.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and Functional Safety standards.
• Vehicle-level system integration experience; hardware and software.
• Product development cycle from concept to launch for HW & SW.
• MSI JIRA, Confluence, MS Project familiarity; willingness to travel internationally.
• Education plus 8–10 years in automotive/EV with HV exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV system integration across vehicle platforms and validation.
• Drive end-to-end HV component development from requirements to production readiness.
• Collaborate with suppliers to meet milestones and resolve issues.
• Ensure safety with Cybersecurity and Functional Safety considerations.
• Support production launches and field quality improvements.

Job Description

Your Tasks –

EV/HV professional experienced in high-voltage systems, vehicle integration, BMS, VCU, MCU, OBC, DC-DC, diagnostics, testing, production support, supplier management, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity.

To ensure that you will-

• Experience in electric commercial vehicles / LCVs / buses / high-voltage EV platforms will be an advantage.
• Strong hands-on experience in EV high-voltage systems and vehicle integration, with the ability to manage HV components from requirement definition through design, supplier development, validation, vehicle integration, production launch and field quality
• The candidate should be capable of understanding the complete HV energy path: HV Battery BDU/PDU Pre-charge DC Link Inverter/MCU Traction Motor and auxiliary HV system such as: HV Battery OBC / DC-DC / E-Compressor / EHPS/ Other HV Loads
• The candidate should also understand the interaction between BMS, VCU, MCU, OBC, DC/DC, HVIL, diagnostics, and vehicle-level safety strategies.
• Software development, automotive vehicle network, diagnostic testing know-how
• Experience in Supplier management, change management, issue reporting, part tracking.
• Familiarity with Automotive regulations, best practices and performance standards like Cybersecurity, Functional Safety
• Experience of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and Software.
• Knowledge of Product Development cycle from concept to launch completion for Hardware & Software topics.
• Familiarity with MSI JIRA, Confluence, MS Project utilization for Project Management
• Flexibility for international travel (e.g. 3 months)
• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Preferred: M.E./M.Tech in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering.
• 8-10 years of relevant automotive / EV experience, with significant exposure to HV systems, power electronics or EV electrical architecture.
• HV Component Ownership for end-to-end development, integration, validation and production readiness of High Voltage (HV) electrical and power electronic components for electric vehicles such as Electric vehicle charging controller.
• Component specification creation to meet customer requirements
• Driving cross functional teams in R&D and outside R&D including Marketing, Project Management, Sourcing Quality
• Integrate and collaborate with supplier for component development milestones
• Identify project bottlenecks and drive debottlenecking actions.
• Own drawing release, vehicle building and testing responsibilities.
• Planning / Tracking of project timeline
• Field Quality & Root Cause Analysis
• Central interface to the various engineering dept. & other dept.
• Change management in PLM tool
• Develop competencies, technologies, and innovations to enable continuous improvements.
