As an editor in the team, youll have the expert's hand in enhancing a wide variety of business intelligence material, refining the messaging and presentation of high-quality research and insights, and sharpening storyboarding for reports that delve into the ever-changing world of business to uncover unique and meaningful business perspectives for Deloitte leaders. All this while getting to learn about the how the interplay of business demands, macroeconomic, political and social forces converge to impact the dynamics of global businesses. The team supports, develops, writes, and presents market intelligence outputs for internal practitioners across the globe, powering Deloitte's market strategies with insights.

Work you'll do

In the CoRe R&I team, the Editor is responsible for working closely with a group of business research professionals and industry specialists to edit, write, and storyboard a wide variety of research documents in English, which are meant for the consumption of Deloitte leaders and practitioners. Editorial review should encompass quality attributes-logical structuring, objectivity, writing clarity, consistency, grammar, and storyboarding The Editor acts as the consultant for all matters related to language and communication for the team.

• Edit research outputs to improve business writing, structure, and style with an eye to clarity and conciseness
• Proofread written research outputs and ensure error-free copies of the assigned content
• Help analysts bring the key insights upfront in concise and impactful manner. Identify gaps in 'so-what' in their messaging and highlight
• Coach team members to remove redundancies, avoid marketing language, and present insights in a compelling business writing language, that presents a neutral point of view
• A general understanding of economy, industries and Deloitte's services and perusal of Deloitte publications is recommended.
• Provide a thorough debrief to the analyst(s) after each editorial review and suggest action items, if required.
• Trace the development curve, maintain KPIs and identify development areas of analysts. Work with the respective Team Leads and the analysts to develop/suggest an action plan.
• Ensure adherence to the team's editorial process
• This role would also be responsible for internal communication of extended CoRe team

The Team:

CoRe Research & Insights provides secondary research and analysis services to global Deloitte Member Firms in support of pursuit, business development, practice development, and client engagements. The team uses exclusive sources, specialized research skills and industry expertise to develop insightful research reports delivering significant value to their customers across Deloitte's global network.

Skills required:

• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills; impeccable command of the English language, both written and spoken
• The ability to convey complex research ideas in a succinct, compelling, and readable way
• Strong storyboarding skills are preferred. Ability to write succinctly for executive audience
• Familiarity with Internet-based software and Microsoft Office products is essential, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access
• Ability to think clearly and logically

Qualifications

Required:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in English Language, Linguistics studies, English Literature, journalism and/or mass communication
• Work experience of 1-2 years, preferably in roles such as business editor, business research writer, technical writer, journalist in recognized finance/business/economics magazines, newspapers or publishing houses.
• Marketing, public relations and communications experience will be an advantage.
