Editor in Chief, MicroScope by MicroMitti

Indore (national remit) | Full time |

Reports to Founder & CEO

The job in one line India has 4,000+ towns, ₹300 lakh crore of land wealth, and not one credible digital newsroom that explains any of it. Come build it. The pitch Every Indian family's biggest financial decision is a property decision. And almost every one of them makes it on the basis of a broker's WhatsApp forward, an uncle's opinion, or a builder's brochure.

Meanwhile, equity investors get Moneycontrol. News consumers get Lallantop. Startups get their own ecosystem press. Real estate and Prop FinTech get nothing. No data desk. No explainer culture. No one asking why a ₹1crore flat is now the entry ticket to a Tier 1 city, or what a REIT actually pays out, or who really owns the land behind that hoarding on the bypass. MicroScope is being built to fill that gap. Digital first. Hindi first, English fluent. Video, newsletter, data, and reportage. Made in Indore, read across Bharat. We are looking for the person who will run it. What you will actually own

The charter. You define what MicroScope covers, what it refuses to cover, and what it stands for. This is a founding editorial mandate, not an inherited style guide. The newsroom. Hire and lead reporters, video producers, data journalists, editors, and a social desk. You build the team from a blank org chart upward.

The formats. Long form explainers. A daily or weekly Hindi video show. A flagship newsletter people actually pay attention to. Shorts and reels that carry real information, not just hooks. Data visualisations of circle rates, launch pipelines, absorption, price movement, RERA filings.

The beat map. Residential, commercial, land, REITs and fractional structures, home loans and mortgage tech, RERA and policy, urban infrastructure, Tier 2 and Tier 3 growth corridors, GCC and IT Park demand, construction and materials, PropTech capital flows.

The numbers. Reach, retention, watch time, subscriber growth, and eventually revenue lines across sponsorship, events, syndication, and subscriptions.

The standard. Every correction, every takedown request, every uncomfortable story. The buck stops at your desk.

tech, RERA and policy, urban infrastructure, Tier 2 and Tier 3 growth corridors, GCC and IT Park demand, construction and materials, PropTech capital flows.

Who we are looking for

You have run a newsroom or a large desk. Ten to eighteen years in business, financial, real estate, or policy journalism, with at least a few of them digital native. You have shipped, not just supervised.

You are bilingual in the real sense. You can write a Hindi script that a first time homebuyer in Jabalpur understands, and an English piece a fund manager in Mumbai forwards to his team. Neither one is a translation of the other.

You think in formats, not articles. You know that the same story becomes a 90 second reel, a 12 minute YouTube explainer, a newsletter section, and a data card, and you know which one leads. You are comfortable with numbers. Yield, cap rate, carpet vs super built up, absorption, IRR, LTV, circle

rate versus market rate. You do not need these explained. You need reporters who can explain them.

You have opinions about distribution. YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp channels, LinkedIn, SEO, podcast. You know that a great story nobody sees is a failed story.

You hire well and you edit hard. Young rep

orters should want to work for you specifically. You have a spine. This industry has advertisers, lobbies, and lawyers. You have dealt with all three. Who this is not for

Anyone looking for a comfortable EIC title with a small team and a quiet inbox. Anyone who thinks digital means uploading print copy to a website. Anyone who needs a fully built newsroom on day one. Anyone who would be uncomfortable publishing a story that irritates the company that signs their salary. Anyone who believes serious journalism can only happen from Mumbai or Delhi.

Your first year, roughly Days 1 to 90. Editorial charter signed. Beat map and coverage philosophy locked. First core hires made. Pilot formats live. Voice established.

Days 91 to 180. Daily or weekly publishing rhythm running. Flagship video property launched. Newsletter shipping consistently. First original investigation or data story that the wider industry has to react to.

Days 181 to 365. Full desk staffed. Measurable audience base across at least two platforms. A defined revenue path. MicroScope quoted by other publications as a source. What we bring Founding level ownership of a media property, with the runway to build it properly.

Compensation benchmarked to senior editorial leadership in Indian digital media, plus performance linked upside. Serious candidates, tell us your number. Budget for team, equipment, studio, and distribution.

Direct access to the Founder and CEO. No layers.

Base in Indore, with travel across India as the beat demands. Relocation supported.
