Job description

The Challenge: Most business news is either too slow or too boring. We are changing that. We don’t need someone to find the data—we use high-speed data extraction to create raw drafts of Indian company news (SEBI filings, corporate actions, and earnings). In addition, our \"News Curators\" have already verified the numbers in the drafts.

We need an Editor who can take those verified facts and turn them into sharp, high-impact news stories that move the needle.

What You Will Actually Do:

  • Polish: Take raw, data-heavy drafts and rewrite them into punchy, professional business news. No fluff, just the facts that matter to investors.
  • Headline Mastery: Write \"click-worthy\" but responsible headlines that capture the essence of a SEBI filing or an earnings report instantly.
  • Publish: Take full ownership of the CMS. You are the final set of eyes before the \"Publish\" button is hit.
  • Promote: Package these stories for our newsletters and social media feeds to ensure our audience sees the news the second it breaks.

Forget the Degree—Show Us the Skill: We don’t care where you went to school or what is written on your diploma. In fact, we value real-world experience over a Mass Comm degree.

Many of our staff members are mothers with young children. If that environment works for you, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

We are looking for:

  • Economic Intuition: You should know why a 10% drop in PAT (Profit After Tax) matters, or what a \"Change in Directorate\" implies, without having to Google it.
  • Writing Speed: You can edit and format a 200-word news blast in minutes, not hours.
  • The \"So What?\" Factor: You can read a set of numbers and immediately understand the story—why does this matter to a business reader in India?
  • Native-Level English: Your grammar must be flawless, and your style must be concise. We write for busy professionals, not academics.
  • Tech Literacy: You need to be comfortable learning our Content Management System, and managing social media scheduling tools.
  • Hours: Indian Market Hours (This is non-negotiable; we move when the market moves).
  • Location: Hybrid, working in our office park in Bangalore half of Monday and half of Thursday.
  • The Test: Every applicant will be given a raw data set and 20 minutes to produce a publishable news snippet. If you can't do it, please don't apply.
