Job summary

Taggd is seeking an Engineer - ECU Hardware Design & Validation with 2–3 years of automotive electronics experience. You will validate ECU hardware, analyze circuits, debug PCBs, and perform root-cause analysis using lab equipment. Collaboration with hardware, software, and systems teams will drive robust validation.

The role focuses on hardware validation methodologies, test documentation, and continuous improvement of ECU hardware testing processes within an automotive context.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware validation and testing of automotive ECUs per test plans and specs.
• Analyze ECU hardware circuits and support design verification activities.
• Use lab instruments (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, loads, generators) for testing and debugging.
• Perform power supply testing: voltage, current, ripple, transient, load conditions.
• Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze hardware failures and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Document test results and validation reports.
• Support environmental and reliability testing of ECU hardware.

Position: Engineer - ECU Hardware Design & Validation

Job Summary

We are looking for an Engineer - ECU Hardware Design & Validation with 2-3 years of experience in automotive electronics and ECU hardware validation. The candidate will be responsible for hardware validation, circuit analysis, PCB debugging, failure analysis, and supporting ECU development activities.

The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience with laboratory test equipment, good understanding of electronic circuits, and the ability to troubleshoot hardware issues systematically.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hardware validation and testing of automotive ECUs as per defined test plans and specifications.
• Analyze ECU hardware circuits and support design verification activities.
• Use laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, and function/signal generators for hardware testing and debugging.
• Perform power supply testing, including voltage, current, ripple, transient, and load-condition checks.
• Support PCB bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Analyze hardware failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support identification, reproduction, and resolution of hardware issues during validation.
• Prepare and execute hardware validation test cases and document test results.
• Support environmental and reliability testing of ECU hardware.
• Work closely with hardware design, embedded software, systems, and validation teams to resolve technical issues.
• Review test results and prepare validation reports and technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement of ECU hardware validation and testing processes.

Must-Have Skills

• 2-3 years of experience in ECU hardware validation/testing.
• Good understanding of analog and digital electronic circuits.
• Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes and other electronic test instruments.
• Basic understanding of PCB design, layout, and debugging.
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of power supply testing and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and circuit diagrams.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of automotive ECU development and validation processes.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to automotive ECU development and testing.
• Knowledge of automotive communication interfaces such as CAN/LIN.
• Exposure to EMC/EMI testing.
• Knowledge of environmental testing such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and thermal cycling.
• Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 16750, and CISPR.
• Experience with test documentation, validation reports, and defect-tracking tools.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
