Job summary

Expleo is seeking an EMC Engineer in Chennai to plan, execute, and document EMI/EMC validation for automotive ECUs. You will perform emissions, immunity, ESD, and transient testing per international standards, develop test plans and reports, and conduct design reviews to improve PCB layout, grounding, shielding, and filtering.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with EMI/EMC validation and compliance testing for automotive ECUs.
  • Knowledge of automotive EMC standards and testing methods.
  • Ability to develop EMC requirements, test plans, and reports.
  • Experience in EMC design reviews and recommendations for PCB layout, grounding, shielding, and filtering.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, analyze, and document EMI/EMC validation and compliance testing for automotive electronic systems and ECUs.
  • Perform conducted/radiated emissions, immunity, ESD, and transient testing per automotive, OEM, and international EMC standards.
  • Develop EMC requirements, test plans, procedures, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct EMC design reviews and support implementation of PCB layout, grounding, shielding, filtering, harness routing, and EMC protection techniques.
  • Investigate EMC test failures, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to meet compliance requirements.
  • Support pre-compliance testing and provide design recommendations to improve EMC performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve EMC-related issues throughout product development.
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and external EMC test laboratories for validation and certification activities.
  • Review EMC test results and provide technical recommendations for design improvements and compliance.
  • Support product development from concept through production release, ensuring adherence to customer-specific, regulatory, and automotive EMC standards.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Hands-on experience in EMC chambers and vehicle-level EMC testing.
  • Experience with hybrid/electric vehicle systems, battery management systems, or power electronics.
  • Exposure to global automotive development processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with attention to quality and compliance.
