Job summary

Aptiv Bengaluru invites an ECAD Engineer to design and validate high-quality PCBs for advanced automotive electronics. You will work with global teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective PCB solutions aligned with Aptiv's quality standards.

The role emphasizes multilayer/HDI PCB design, schematic capture, layouts, and documentation using Xpedition, DxDesigner, and Valor, with involvement in design reviews and DFx activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering or related field.
• 6–8 years of hands-on PCB design experience with multilayer and HDI boards.
• Strong expertise with ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition, DxDesigner and Valor.
• Solid understanding of digital and analog circuit design and PCB layout principles.
• Automotive PCB design experience and knowledge of high-speed signal simulation tools like HyperLynx is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify multilayer and HDI PCBs focusing on reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Create and support schematics, PCB layouts, and manufacturing docs using ECAD tools (Xpedition, DxDesigner, Valor).
• Develop PCB stack-ups, tooling drawings, and support DFM/DFA/DFT activities.
• Perform design verification, circuit analysis, and collaborate with global teams for project success.
• Participate in technical reviews and drive continuous improvement to quality and business impact.

YOUR ROLE

As an ECAD Engineer , you will play a key role in designing and validating high-quality printed circuit boards (PCBs) for advanced automotive electronic products. You will collaborate with global engineering teams to develop reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable PCB solutions while ensuring compliance with Aptiv’s quality and design standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and verify multilayer and HDI PCBs with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
• Create and support schematic designs, PCB layouts, and production documentation using Mentor/Siemens ECAD tools such as Xpedition, DxDesigner, and Valor.
• Develop PCB stack-ups, tooling drawings, and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) activities.
• Perform design verification, circuit analysis, and collaborate with local and global engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Participate in technical reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and business impact.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 6 to 8 years of hands‑on experience in PCB design, including multilayer and HDI board development.
• Strong expertise in ECAD tools such as Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Siemens Xpedition, DxDesigner, and Valor.
• Solid understanding of digital and analog circuit design, PCB layout principles, and engineering documentation.
• Automotive PCB design experience and knowledge of high‑speed signal simulation tools such as HyperLynx will be an advantage.
