Job summary

Podar ORT International School in Mumbai's Worli unit seeks an IB Early Years Programme (EYP) Teacher to nurture young learners through inquiry-based, play-based, and experiential learning aligned with the PYP philosophy.

The ideal candidate will hold ECCEd/ Montessori/Nursery or B.Ed., demonstrate strong communication, and collaborate with teachers and coordinators to create joyful learning experiences across the Early Years.

Early Years Programme (EYP) Teacher – IB School

Job Profile:

An EYP Teacher in an IB School is responsible for nurturing young learners through inquiry-based, play-based, and experiential learning aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences
• Foster holistic development – social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Encourage inquiry, creativity, and independent thinking among children
• Observe, assess, and document student progress regularly
• Maintain effective communication with parents regarding child development
• Integrate storytelling, music, art, movement, and hands-on activities into learning
• Collaborate with co-teachers and coordinators for curriculum planning
• Ensure classroom management, student well-being, and safety standards
• Participate in school events, training, and IB professional development programmes
• Bachelor’s Degree with ECCEd / Montessori / Nursery Teacher Training / B.Ed. (preferred)
• Prior experience in Pre-Primary / Early Years education preferred
• Understanding of IB PYP philosophy and inquiry-based learning approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for working with young children and creating joyful learning experiences
• Creativity, patience, empathy, and classroom management skills
• Proficiency in English communication and basic technology usage
• IB training/workshop certification will be an added advantage

We are looking for candidate with flexibility to work across Early Years Section, as per school requirements
