The DWS Internal Audit team seeks an AVP level auditor to assess technology, data and security risks in DWS IT applications, including cloud platforms. You will audit in line with our methodology and collaborate with global teams.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit IT, you will deliver high-quality findings, participate in integrated audits, and support risk-based assurance across locations worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience auditing or with technology topics like cyber, cloud, apps.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to articulate risks.
• Understanding of audit concepts and outsourced environments.
• Certifications like CISA or CISSP preferred but not essential.
• Ability to multi-task and work in distributed teams.

Internal Audit

The DWS Internal Audit team consists of more than 40 professionals located in New York, London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo and other locations, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality audit results across all key activities of DWS worldwide. With close connectivity to the Executive Board, governance bodies and international regulators, the function directly contributes to the stability, transparency and ongoing development of a global leading asset manager. The work combines a strong business and risk-oriented perspective with analytical depth, high independence and the use of modern methodologies, data analytics and increasingly AI supported tools. Internal Audit identifies relevant control weaknesses across the entire control environment, compiles well founded risk assessments, executes risk and process-oriented audits and develops audit approaches that systematically evaluate the design and effectiveness of key controls. This results in insights that shape critical business decisions and significantly support the evolution of DWS. As the “third line of defense” Internal Audit plays a central role by assessing topics independently and forward looking, strategically prioritizing risks and serving as a trusted partner to senior management and international supervisory authorities. Overview

The “DWS Internal Auditor - Technology Applications” will work as part of a global team, directly reporting to the Head of Internal Audit Information Technology. You are responsible for auditing technology, data and security risk of DWS IT Applications, incl. Cloud platforms. You will participate in audits in accordance with the audit methodology, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas. As the subject matter expert, you also participate in integrated audits, which are conducted together with other audit teams.

Your key responsibilities

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls relating to Technology supporting the DWS’s processes in accordance with Audit methodology and the established risk assessment framework
• Conduct Technology, Security, Data assessments and continuous monitoring and complete all work assignments on a timely basis - including planned audits, finding validations, and ad-hoc projects
• Prepare, coordinate, and execute audit assignments, attend meetings with internal stakeholders as and when required, draft high-quality findings for review by Audit management and validate the closure of findings
• Proactively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues.
• Work in an integrated manner locally and globally.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in auditing or practical working experience with Technology topics such as cyber, cloud, application operations, software development, databases, etc.
• Strong analytical and communication skills together with the ability to clearly articulate control deficiencies and related risks
• A fundamental understanding of the following audit disciplines: audit concepts (e.g. pre-/post implementation audits), controls in outsourced environments (e.g. for managed services) and auditing IT service and quality management.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CCAK, CCSP, COBIT) preferred but not essential
• Ability to multi-task assignments, prioritize workloads with support/supervision, and work well within distributed teams
• Interest in emerging technologies relating to coding, data analytics, cloud, infrastructure, or artificial intelligence is an advantage
