Job summary

Deutsche Bank is seeking an AVP level DWS Internal Auditor – Technology Applications in Pune to audit technology, data and security risks across IT applications, including cloud platforms. You will participate in audits, evaluate control effectiveness, and work with global teams to strengthen risk management.

The role emphasizes technical auditing knowledge, strong analytical abilities, and an interest in emerging technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience in auditing or practical working experience with technology topics such as cyber, cloud, application operations, software development, databases, etc.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills together with the ability to clearly articulate control deficiencies and related risks.
  • A fundamental understanding of audit disciplines: pre-/post implementation audits, controls in outsourced environments, and auditing IT service and quality management.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CCSP, COBIT) preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to multi-task assignments, prioritise workloads with support/supervision, and work well within distributed teams.
  • Interest in emerging technologies relating to coding, data analytics, cloud, infrastructure, or artificial intelligence is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls relating to technology supporting the DWS’s processes in accordance with audit methodology and the established risk assessment framework.
  • Conduct technology, security, data assessments and continuous monitoring and complete all work assignments on a timely basis – including planned audits, finding validations, and ad-hoc projects.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute audit assignments, attend meetings with internal stakeholders as and when required, draft high-quality findings for review by audit management and validate the closure of findings.
  • Proactively develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues and work in an integrated manner locally and globally.

Internal Audit
  • The DWS Internal Audit team consists of more than 40 professionals located in New York, London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo and other locations, ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality audit results across all key activities of DWS worldwide. With close connectivity to the Executive Board, governance bodies and international regulators, the function directly contributes to the stability, transparency and ongoing development of a global leading asset manager.
  • The work combines a strong business and risk‑oriented perspective with analytical depth, high independence and the use of modern methodologies, data analytics and increasingly AI‑supported tools. Internal Audit identifies relevant control weaknesses across the entire control environment, compiles well‑founded risk assessments, executes risk and process‑oriented audits and develops audit approaches that systematically evaluate the design and effectiveness of key controls. This results in insights that shape critical business decisions and significantly support the evolution of DWS.
  • As the “third line of defense” Internal Audit plays a central role by assessing topics independently and forward‑looking, strategically prioritising risks and serving as a trusted partner to senior management and international supervisory authorities. Overview
  • The “DWS Internal Auditor – Technology Applications” will work as part of a global team, directly reporting to the Head of Internal Audit Information Technology.
  • You are responsible for auditing technology, data and security risk of DWS IT Applications, incl. cloud platforms. You will participate in audits in accordance with the audit methodology, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to risks within those business areas.
  • As the subject matter expert, you also participate in integrated audits, which are conducted together with other audit teams.

Your Key Responsibilities
