Internal Audit

The DWS Internal Audit team, consisting of more than 40 professionals worldwide, delivers high‑quality audit results across all key activities of DWS. It combines a strong business‑and‑risk oriented perspective with analytical depth and modern methodologies, including data analytics and AI‑supported tools. Internal Audit identifies control weaknesses, compiles risk assessments, executes audits, and develops approaches that evaluate key controls. As the “third line of defense”, it plays a central role in independently assessing risks and serving as a trusted partner to senior management and regulators.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex audits or participate in local and global audit engagements, including special investigations across all areas and locations of the DWS Group; independently prepare draft reports and support tracking of audit findings.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment and actively contribute to the execution of audit plans in support of functional and business strategies.
  • Lead audit teams, including Internal Audit Managers, for the duration of the audit.
  • Act as site head (Pune / India) and deputize for the Head of Internal Audit Group Functions & APAC in regional matters; serve as matrix manager for the local audit team and work with local DWS leadership.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for product/functional management locally and represent DWS Internal Audit in local forums and councils.
  • Prepare risk assessments for various areas within DWS and conduct risk‑and‑process‑oriented audits efficiently within defined time and resource budgets.
  • Support dynamic, risk‑based audit planning through continuous monitoring of business divisions and infrastructure functions, identifying key risks and developing effective tests.
  • Develop and maintain consultative relationships with audit team members, internal stakeholders, clients, and relevant infrastructure areas.
  • Communicate audit results effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all organizational levels.
  • Primary place of work: Pune / India.
Your Skills And Experience
  • Several years of audit experience or equivalent professional experience at a reputable asset manager, financial services company, or audit firm.
  • Completed university degree in Business Administration, Economics or an MBA; CFA, CIA, FRM or other equivalent certifications are an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the value chain and processes of an investment management company, particularly in operations, settlement, reporting and transaction processing; also understanding of risk management practices such as credit, market and liquidity risk.
  • Understanding of traditional asset management products and alternative investment products.
  • Independent and proactive working style supported by strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and several years of project management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and confident professional presence at all organizational levels.
  • High willingness to learn, strong assertiveness and readiness to take on challenges.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work accurately and efficiently even in high‑pressure situations.
