Job summary

Hindalco Industries is seeking a dedicated quality control professional to monitor NCs, ensure finished goods meet quality objectives, and coordinate with production, packing, and warehouse teams to ensure timely dispatch. The candidate will perform chemical analyses, support SPC and data trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain safety and compliance in daily operations.

Role & responsibilities

Supporting Actions

Daily Quality Control

• Ensure quality of the process by monitoring for NC's and handling & disposition of the finished goods, to meet the quality goal / objective of the company.
• Monitor machine's FPY % (First-Pass Yield) and escape NCs to related AET members.
• Monitor proficiency in testing and inter laboratory comparison to achieve accuracy in test reports.
• Monitor & review Daily Performance Indicators (DPIs) of DMTs performance and take necessary corrective & preventive actions for deviation.
• Clear HDIN material, make decision on NC material, and help packing & sales coordinator to dispatch the material on schedule, for shorter 'Cash Conversion Cycle.'
• Conduct chemical analysis of finished goods for quality assurance.
• Support system for Quality parameter analysis, trends monitoring, and process control measures (SPC) for effective process care.
• Support & Coordinate with warehouse, packing, operation, and PT Lab teams for third party inspection of finished goods and share report with marketing for timely dispatch of goods

Customer Centricity

• Meet and exceed internal & external customer expectations, adhere with service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure implementation of action plans based on ICSI, customer feedback & surveys.
• Ensure product quality conformance to customer demand and support the team in identifying future needs of customer for long term customer retention.

Continuous Improvement

• Ensure continuous improvements using problem solving tools (RCA, OPL, Kaizen etc.)
• Drive FI, PI, Just Do It, Value Creation, and other improvement initiatives to improve productivity & cost efficiency of the Area.
• Create value through waste elimination, optimum resource utilization, productivity enhancement, etc.

Eliminate inefficiencies and NVAs in the system for streamlining.

Safety & Workplace Management

• Drive strategic / area wise improvement initiatives under the guidance of SME and ensure all statutory requirements in the Area are met with focus on air and water pollution control, for hazardous wastes and effluents.
• Follow procedures & plans, for compliance with statutory, regulatory & environmental norms and HIL standards for Occupational Health, safety & environment.
• Eradicate the health hazards that arise out of occupational, design & human risk factors and implement programs to comply with statutory requirements & hazard mitigation.
• Align with Kaizen and other improvement initiatives for greater sustainability of operations.
• Maintain workplace in order with respect to all Sub-areas (Level of 5-S).
• Follow safety standards & procedures (work permit system, storage and handling of hazardous material, etc.) for accident prevention in the Area.
• Follow LOTOTO (Look-Out, Tag-Out & Try-Out) guidelines for personnel safety.
