Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the roll out of the programme based on the action plan.
  • Conduct monthly meetings and review meetings.
  • Develop monthly work plans for district and block teams.
  • Build capacities and provide handholding support to block coordinators, sector coordinators, and programme facilitators.
  • Organize training programs for Project Staff, FLWs, and PRIs.
  • Assess the quality of training using specific assessment tools.
  • Regularly monitor and assess the skills of FLWs and project staff and provide handholding support.
  • Prepare periodic reports and develop case studies.
  • Coordinate with district-level authorities—sharing monthly data/reports and coordinating effective implementation of the programme.

Project Overview

The project aims to work with children under 6 years, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls to address their unique nutritional needs. It seeks to engage with tribal and PVTG groups in Malkangiri such as Bondas, Gadabas, Kondhs, and Koyas.

Project Objectives
  • Build the capacities of Anganwadi workers for better case management and improvement of nutritional outcomes
  • Work with AWWs and ASHAs for management of pregnancy and delivery, resulting in improved birth weights and lower maternal and child morbidity and mortality
  • Build knowledge and awareness among community members on health and nutrition to improve practice and increase demand for services
  • Work with local governance systems to improve village-level planning and monitoring of health and nutrition services for children, women, and adolescents
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the roll out of the programme based on the action plan
  • Conduct monthly meetings and review meetings
  • Develop monthly work plans for district and block teams
  • Build capacities and provide handholding support to block coordinators, sector coordinators, and programme facilitators
  • Develop training calendars and impart training for FLWs as per schedule
  • Organize training programs for Project Staff, FLWs, and PRIs
  • Provide resource person support for training the PF/SC/FLWs
  • Assess the quality of training using specific assessment tools
  • Regularly monitor and assess the skills of FLWs and project staff and provide handholding support
  • Organize refresher trainings as per needs
  • Maintain training database of all training and assessments
  • Prepare periodic reports and develop case studies
  • Support tracking of children with growth faltering and nutrition issues
  • Coordinate with district-level authorities—sharing monthly data/reports and coordinating effective implementation of the programme
  • Build rapport and coordinate with DSWO, CDPOs, BDOs, and MOICs at the block level
  • Participate in district and block-level review meetings
  • Build rapport with NRCs and facilitate referrals and admissions for children with SAM
  • Participate and handhold in PLA meetings and other activities performed by sector coordinators and programme facilitators on a rotation basis
  • Participate in fortnightly, monthly, and quarterly meetings organized by state and national teams
  • Undertake data analysis for effective programme management
  • Support writing and collation of donor monitoring reports
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Desired Skills
  • Minimum master’s degree in Social Work or Social Studies
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience leading a nutrition/health/sanitation programme at the district level
  • Willingness to serve the community with experience in community-based programmes, preferably in health
  • Experience in planning and executing district-to-village level operations with Government/Donor/NGO-supported programmes
  • Experience coordinating with district administration, civil society organizations, and participating in district-level committees and forums
  • Experience working in tribal-dominated areas
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Good communication skills, especially in local languages
  • Strong documentation skills and proficiency in Hindi and English

Till September 2027. The contract is initially issued for one year and will be extended based on performance and project needs.
