Brief On The Organization

Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.

Project Brief

This project aims to reduce child malnutrition, stunting, and anemia among pregnant women in selected districts of Gujarat. The project will be implemented in districts such as Dangs and Sabarkantha through interventions including Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), anemia control and prevention, and Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Feeding (MIYCF) counselling. IIPHG will act as the technical and evaluation partner, responsible for situational analysis, baseline and endline surveys, intervention design, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project learnings. Implementation partners will deliver community-level interventions with technical support from IIPHG. The project includes baseline assessment, intervention rollout, continuous monitoring, and final evaluation to measure impact and support scale-up and policy recommendations through government collaboration.

Deliverables
  • Provide direct supervision to field teams across the six targeted talukas -Ahwa, Subir, Waghai, Vijaynagar, Poshina, and Khedbrahma; to ensure all project activities align with the established implementation timeline.
  • Implement rigorous quality control measures during field-based data collection, including the oversight of anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin estimation to reduce data entry errors.
  • Travel and conduct routine field visits using structured checklists to monitor the delivery of community-based interventions, such as CMAM and 3T anemia protocols, ensuring they meet project standards.
  • Assist in facilitating community feedback mechanisms and attending convergence meetings, such as Gram Sabhas, to maintain strong relationships with local government officials and implementation partners.
  • Support the co-development of intervention materials and provide on-site technical support to frontline workers, including ASHAs and Anganwadi workers, during the rollout of nutrition packages.
  • Contribute to the cleaning and preliminary analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and assist the Research & M&E Manager in drafting process monitoring reports and success stories.
  • Manage the local logistics for field-based M&E activities, including the coordination of transportation, equipment calibration, and the distribution of survey tools within the assigned clusters.
  • Any other task given by the project PI.
Qualification (Minimum)

Post-graduate in Public Health, Nutrition, Developmental Studies, or Allied Disciplines with 2-3 years of experience.
