Brief On The Organization

Indian Institute of Public Health Gandhinagar (IIPHG) is a University established under IIPHG Act, 2015 of Gujarat State. It offers courses in the field of Public Health. It also undertakes various research projects in the field of Public Health. The university is established by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) with support from the Government of Gujarat, Department of Health & Family Welfare.

Project Brief

This project aims to reduce child malnutrition, stunting, and anemia among pregnant women in selected districts of Gujarat. The project will be implemented in districts such as Dangs and Sabarkantha through interventions including Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), anemia control and prevention, and Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Feeding (MIYCF) counselling. IIPHG will act as the technical and evaluation partner, responsible for situational analysis, baseline and endline surveys, intervention design, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project learnings. Implementation partners will deliver community-level interventions with technical support from IIPHG. The project includes baseline assessment, intervention rollout, continuous monitoring, and final evaluation to measure impact and support scale-up and policy recommendations through government collaboration.

Deliverables

• Lead and coordinate research, monitoring and evaluation activities as per approved work plans and timelines.
• Develop and implement robust M&E frameworks, indicators, tools and data collection systems.
• Conduct statistical, thematic and program-level analysis to generate actionable evidence.
• Prepare and submit high-quality research, M&E and technical reports within stipulated timelines.
• Lead field monitoring, data verification and evaluation activities in accordance with approved protocols.
• Generate research outputs including technical reports, policy briefs, research papers and presentations.
• Translate research and monitoring findings into evidence-based recommendations for program and policy improvement.
• Ensure effective coordination with government departments, development partners and research institutions
• Any other task given by the project PI.

Qualification: (Minimum)

Ph.D. in Nutrition or Master’s degree in Nutrition with a strong research and evaluation component

Desirable

• Ph.D. in Nutrition or postdoctoral research experience; a strong peer-reviewed publication record; demonstrated impact-evaluation expertise; and experience with donor-funded public health/nutrition research program.

Experience

• Seven (07) years of relevant post-qualification experience in research, monitoring & evaluation, public health/nutrition program, data analysis, preparing technical reports, and translating findings into actionable recommendations, including at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience leading research and/or M&E activities.
• Desirable: Experience leading large-scale field-based public health/nutrition studies or program evaluations; demonstrated experience with government/public health program, field monitoring and data-quality assurance, research publications, technical report writing, and coordination with government departments development partners or research institutes.
