Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Mumbai invites an experienced Engineering professional to join our transmission and distribution design team. You will prepare distribution layouts using ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other tools, while aligning with codes and client requirements under supervision.

The role involves reviewing submissions, engaging in client meetings, and expanding design ownership with guidance from the discipline lead.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/civil engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience.
• Experience in transmission & distribution preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and IT skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Google Earth and ArcGIS.
• Knowledge of overhead construction methods and distribution system equipment.
• Familiarity with easements, right-of-way and permitting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work in different roles for different clients.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review submissions and provide review reports.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients.
• Advance engineering design responsibilities with supervision from discipline lead.

Description

• Prepare distribution layouts, designs in various distribution software's like ArcGIS, Pole foreman, Ocalc, AUD,etc. and reports to be carried out in accordance with relevant codes of practice, standards, regulatory authorities, and clients' requirements. All under a suitable level of supervision from a Experienced/Senior Engineer.

• Carry out appropriate reviews of submissions and provide review reports.

• Participate in technical meetings with clients.

• Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer

• Ensure that all duties are carried out according to the company's Quality Systems Procedures.

• A committed team player able to work on own initiative

• Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and US team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/civil engineering

• 2-5 years of experience.

• Prior work experience in transmission & distribution is preferred
