Job summary

Flex, based in Sriperumbudur, is seeking a Director of Operations to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence. The role reports to the VP of Operations and requires overseeing production, planning, and logistics to meet customer expectations at optimal cost.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of end-to-end manufacturing leadership, experience in electronics manufacturing (preferably automotive), and strong strategic, financial, and people-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s/MBA preferred.
• 15+ years in end-to-end manufacturing operations as a Business Head or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably automotive electronics.
• Strong cost-monitoring and financial acumen; ability to improve KPIs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee production and delivery in full, on time, and to spec, cost-effectively.
• Define operational financial goals and monitor progress.
• Oversee staff and P&L with a proven performance track record.
• Set BU goals, assign responsibilities, and implement programs aligned with plans.
• Review KOIs with executive leadership monthly and participate in quarterly reviews with key customers.
• Collaborate with other leaders to set strategic plans and goals.
• Direct purchasing, production control, planning, manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and logistics.

Job Summary

Summary:

The "Director Operations" will be based in Sriperumbudur, Chennai reporting to VP - Operations.

In charge of managing day-to-day operations and core functions of operations to achieve and maintain operational excellence and Customer deliverables (costs, within time)

What a typical day looks like:

• Guarantee production, delivery in full, on time and in specifications, required by customers, at the most cost effective way.
• Define operational financial goals.
• Operational business experience including a successful performance track record managing staff and P&L.
• Establish and communicate Business Unit goals and assignments.
• Define and execute operational programs in line with strategic plans and annual operating goals.
• Meet with Executive Business at least monthly to review and evaluate KOI's.
• Attend quarterly business reviews with key customers.
• Partner with other business leads to establish strategic plans and goals.
• Direct and control the activities on purchasing business, production control, planning, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, maintenance, manufacturing and logistics.
• Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred.
• Minimum 15+years of experience in managing end-to-end manufacturing operations as a Business Head.
• Experience in Electronics manufacturing industry, preferably from automotive electronics background.
• Able to utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, continuously striving to improve value. Possesses strong business acumen and proven ability to improve key financial results.
• Excellent communication skills and networking abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence positive outcomes.
• Strong innovation skills and creativity.
