Job summary

Flex seeks a Director Operations based in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, reporting to VP - Operations. You will manage day-to-day operations and core functions to achieve operational excellence and on-time customer deliverables, while controlling costs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred) and 15+ years of manufacturing operations experience, ideally electronics. Strong business acumen, communication, and leadership are essential to drive best-in-class performance.

Job Summary

The “Director Operations” will be based in Sriperumbudur, Chennai reporting to VP - Operations. In charge of managing day-to-day operations and core functions of operations to achieve and maintain operational excellence and Customer deliverables (costs, within time).

Typical Day

Guarantee production, delivery in full, on time and in specifications, required by customers, at the most cost effective way. Define operational financial goals. Operational business experience including a successful performance track record managing staff and P&L. Establish and communicate Business Unit goals and assignments. Define and execute operational programs in line with strategic plans and annual operating goals. Meet with Executive Business at least monthly to review and evaluate KOI's. Attend quarterly business reviews with key customers. Partner with other business leads to establish strategic plans and goals. Direct and control the activities on purchasing business, production control, planning, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, maintenance, manufacturing and logistics. Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Requirements

The experience we’re looking to add to our team: Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience and A Master’s or MBA degree is preferred. Minimum 15+ years of experience in managing end-to-end manufacturing operations as a Business Head. Experience in Electronics manufacturing industry, preferably from automotive electronics background. Able to utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, continuously striving to improve value. Possesses strong business acumen and proven ability to improve key financial results. Excellent communication skills and networking abilities. Effective interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate and influence positive outcomes. Strong innovation skills and creativity.
