Job summary

Ethiqual Global Pvt.Ltd. in Pune seeks a Director- Planning & Development with hands-on civil construction and contracting experience to lead planning, tendering, budgeting, execution and handover of large-scale projects for a reputed institution in Pune.

You will oversee end-to-end planning, tendering, project budgets, and contract administration, coordinating with multiple teams to ensure on-time delivery, safety, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 20-25 years of experience in Civil Construction/Contracting/EPC/Infrastructure/Institutional Projects.
• Mandatory experience with contracting/construction company.
• Proven tendering and contract management for large-scale civil projects.
• Proven end-to-end project delivery from excavation through handover.
• Strong budgeting, estimation, BOQ, cost control, cash-flow management experience.
• Knowledge of government liaisoning and statutory approvals.
• Strong understanding of construction safety, EHS, and quality control.
• Knowledge of STPL and its application to project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of civil construction projects from site mobilization through handover.
• Oversee tendering activities: preparation, BOQ review, estimation, contractor evaluation, negotiations, finalization.
• Develop execution plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans and project control mechanisms.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flows, BOQs, cost forecasts and cost control measures.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors and project teams.
• Ensure contract administration including work orders, billing, variations, claims and vendor negotiations.
• Supervise construction activities: excavation, foundations, RCC/structural works, finishing, MEP coordination.
• Monitor progress against schedules and implement recovery plans for delays and critical path deviations.
• Ensure compliance with safety, EHS standards, quality standards and statutory regulations at sites.
• Coordinate with multiple departments (Civil, Structural, MEP, Architecture, Procurement, Finance, Planning, Site Execution).

Job description

We are looking for Director- Planning & Development with strong hands-on experience in civil construction and contracting to lead the planning, tendering, budgeting, execution, and completion of large-scale construction projects for a reputed institution based in Pune.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of civil construction projects from site mobilization and excavation through foundation, RCC/structural works, finishing, commissioning, and handover.
• Lead and oversee tendering activities, including tender preparation, BOQ review, estimation, contractor evaluation, technical/commercial comparison, negotiations, and finalization.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and project control mechanisms.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, cash flows, BOQs, quantity variations, cost forecasts, and cost control measures.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure effective contract administration, including work orders, billing, variations, claims, contractor performance, and commercial negotiations.
• Oversee construction activities including excavation, foundations, RCC, structural works, masonry/AAC blockwork, internal and external plastering, waterproofing, flooring, finishing, façade, and MEP coordination.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules and implement recovery plans for delays and critical path deviations.
• Ensure compliance with construction safety standards, EHS requirements, safety precautions, quality standards, and statutory regulations at project sites.
• Handle or coordinate government liaisoning and statutory approvals, including building permissions, NOCs, inspections, completion/occupancy requirements, and coordination with relevant authorities.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, MEP, Architecture, Procurement, Finance, Planning, and Site Execution teams.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Drive value engineering, resource optimization, productivity improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.

Mandatory Experience & Skills:

• 20-25 years of experience in Civil Construction, Contracting, EPC, Infrastructure, Real Estate, or Institutional Projects.
• Mandatory experience working with a contracting/construction company.
• Proven experience in tendering and contract management for large-scale civil construction projects.
• Proven track record of completing projects from excavation/foundation through execution, finishing, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong experience in project budgeting, estimation, BOQ, cost control, cash-flow management, and quantity/variation management.
• Practical knowledge or experience in government liaisoning and statutory approvals.
• Strong understanding of construction safety, EHS practices, site safety precautions, and quality control.
• Knowledge of STPL and its application/relevance to construction/project execution.
