Job summary

SkillUp Technologies in India (Remote-First) is seeking a seasoned Global Operations Director to scale the company’s operating model and drive AI adoption across functions, not tied to a single team’s output, but how teams work day to day.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in operations, business operations, or program/delivery management.
• Experience operating in a global, distributed, or remote-first organization.
• Track record improving business processes and using data/dashboards to manage performance.
• Practical, hands-on experience applying AI to operations, workflow automation, or decision support pilots or rollouts, not just familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design and run the company’s global operating model across locations.
• Build operating cadences, governance structures, and reporting for distributed teams.
• Identify and resolve operational gaps and process breakdowns across functions.
• Improve handoffs between sales, client success, content development, delivery, and finance.
• Own the company-wide plan for adopting AI in day-to-day operations, including resource planning, project tracking, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Identify practical, high-value AI use cases across functions and pilot them with the relevant teams.
• Lead the change management required for teams to actually adopt new AI-enabled tools and workflows, not just pilot them.
• Partner with IT, data/AI, and function leaders to select, roll out, and scale AI tools responsibly.
• Track adoption rates and measure the business impact of each AI initiative.
• Document and standardize core business processes (SOPs, RACIs, process maps).
• Build dashboards and metrics for capacity, utilization, delivery health, and cost.
• Use data to flag performance trends, resource constraints, and delivery risk to leadership.
• Support business and operating reviews with explicit analysis and recommendations.
• Improve communication norms, meeting structures, and decision processes for distributed teams.

Role Summary

SkillUp Technologies is hiring an Operations Director to scale and modernize the company’s global operating model, with a specific mandate to drive AI adoption across functions not within any single team’s output, but in how teams work day to day. This leader will build the processes, metrics, and change management approach that help SkillUp use AI to simplify work, speed up decisions, and improve productivity company-wide, partnering closely with the COO and functional leaders across the US, India, Portugal, and other locations.

Key Responsibilities

Global Operations Leadership

• Partner with the COO to design and run the company’s global operating model across all locations.
• Build operating cadences, governance structures, and reporting that improve visibility and execution across distributed teams.
• Identify and resolve operational gaps and process breakdowns across functions.
• Improve handoffs between sales, client success, content development, delivery, and finance.

AI Adoption Across the Organization

• Own the company-wide plan for adopting AI in day-to-day operations, including resource planning, project tracking, reporting, and workflow automation.
• Identify practical, high-value AI use cases across functions and pilot them with the relevant teams.
• Lead the change management required for teams to actually adopt new AI-enabled tools and workflows, not just pilot them.
• Partner with IT, data/AI, and function leaders to select, roll out, and scale AI tools responsibly.

Process and Performance Management

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in operations, business operations, or program/delivery management.
• Experience operating in a global, distributed, or remote-first organization.
• Track record improving business processes and using data/dashboards to manage performance.
• Practical, hands-on experience applying AI to operations, workflow automation, or decision support pilots or rollouts, not just familiarity.
• Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EdTech, education services, or another technology-enabled services business.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Zoho, HubSpot, Power BI, Asana, Monday.com, or Smartsheet.
• Experience rolling out AI copilots, agents, or automation tools at an organization level.
• Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, or PMP certification.

Key Success Measures

• A company-wide AI adoption plan is built and shows measurable progress (adoption rate, not just pilots run).
• Reduced manual work across identified core business processes.
• Improved visibility into global capacity, utilization, and delivery health.
• Stronger cross-functional execution and handoff discipline.
