Job summary

Healthedge seeks a Director of DevOps to lead and grow a global DevOps engineering team. You will shape infrastructure strategy, drive containerization, and migrate large applications to public cloud with a focus on reliability and performance.

You will mentor engineers across time zones, champion agile practices, and partner with management to align with business goals. The role requires hands-on cloud expertise and strong leadership in a fast-paced SAAS environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Define and drive Infrastructure Architecture, CD/CI, deployment, security, and test automation.
• Own infra and DevOps operations ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Create roadmaps, milestones, capacity planning and cost estimation.
• Execute technology strategy based on OKRs.
• Design and implement scalable public cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) with high availability.
• Define SDLC methodologies and tooling for reuse and continuous improvement.

Overview

As the Director of Devops Engineering, your primary responsibility is to the people you lead and support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, doing valuable work, and finding satisfaction in their career at Healthedge. As a lead for DevOps, technical leadership and a solid background in software development is a must, so that you’re able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on direction and execution. The Director will design containerization, and implementation/migration of large & complex applications on Public Cloud. He will play a critical role in taking org towards Predictive pipelines & SRE based model.

What you’ll do

• As a senior technology leader, ensure industry best practice is being adopted in terms of Infrastructure Architecture; Continuous Delivery and Integration; Deployment; Security; 3rd-level Support and Test automation.
• Take ownership of all infrastructure and development operations for the team and ensure that all work meets user and commercial objectives, is delivered on time, to budget and to the quality standards agreed.
• Create roadmap, identify delivery milestones, capacity and cost required to achieve the same.
• Execute the agreed upon technology strategy based on OKR
• Strategizing, designing and implementing highly efficient solution on Public Cloud (Amazon Web Services, Azure or GCP) for security, resilience, performant, networking, availability, Blue-green deployments in context of business application.
• Responsible for defining the System Development Life Cycle methodology and associated cross-functional tools to ensure adoption and continuous improvement.
• Understand the global state of the art in commercial cloud and open-source operations
• Prioritize our efforts to raise the bar on complex software-defined infrastructure
• Ensure processes and training are in place for continuous improvement in our services
• Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices

Team and Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop teams of engineers spanning across time zones
• Advocate modern, agile software development practices
• Hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
• Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization
• Coordinate with management and external stakeholders or customers
• Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values
• Set and manage expectations with other engineering and operational teams
• Global travel up to 5% of time for internal and external events

Who you are

• University degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field
• Advanced level Ansible, Terraform & Python skills
• Experience running production operations as SAAS or IT with critical uptime requirements
• Experience running production operations for external customers and partners
• Familiarity with Devops principles and practices
• Leadership ability and ability to set and maintain a high standard of excellence in operations
• You love developing and growing people and can demonstrate a track record of doing it
• You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development
• You have clarity on the drivers of quality in software engineering and an ability to ensure that
• You are organized and want your team to deliver timely software releases
• You have solid experience working in an agile development environment
• You have a thorough understanding of modern infrastructure, including Kubernetes or OpenStack
• You have good knowledge of AWS, Azure cloud computing concepts & technologies
• You have practical knowledge of Linux and networking
