Job summary

HealthEdge Software, Inc. is seeking a Director of DevOps Engineering to lead a globally distributed team. You will focus on people growth, technical leadership and delivering scalable cloud infrastructure for SAAS products.

• University degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience running production operations as SAAS or IT with critical uptime requirements.
• Experience running production operations for external customers and partners.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
• Leadership ability with a track record of excellence in operations.
• Passion for developing people and software engineering quality.
• Organized, capable of timely software releases in an Agile setting.
• Solid experience with modern infrastructure including Kubernetes or OpenStack.
• Good knowledge of AWS, Azure cloud concepts and technologies.
• Practical knowledge of Linux and networking; hands-on with software automation.
• Fluent in cloud terminology.

• Take ownership of all infrastructure and development operations; deliver on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Create roadmap, milestones, capacity planning and cost estimates.
• Execute the technology strategy based on OKR.
• Design and implement efficient cloud solutions (AWS, Azure or GCP) for security, resilience and performance.
• Define SDLC methodology and cross-functional tooling for continuous improvement.
• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art cloud/off‑cloud operations.
• Drive improvements to complex software-defined infrastructure.
• Develop training and evangelize engineering practices.
• Lead teams across time zones; mentor, hire and provide career development.

Overview

As the Director ofDevopsEngineering, your primary responsibility is to the people you lead and support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, doing valuable work, and finding satisfaction in their career atHealthedge. As a lead for DevOps, technical leadership and a solid background in software developmentisa must, so that you’re able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on direction and execution. The Director will design containerization, and implementation/migration of large & complex applications on Public Cloud. He will play a critical role in taking org towards Predictive pipelines & SRE based model.

What you’ll do

• As a senior technology leader, ensure industry best practice is being adopted in terms of Infrastructure Architecture; Continuous Delivery and Integration; Deployment; Security; 3rd-level Support and Test automation.

• Take ownership of all infrastructure and development operations for the team and ensure that all work meets user and commercial objectives,isdelivered on time, to budget and to the quality standards agreed.

• Create roadmap, identify delivery milestones, capacity and cost required to achieve the same.

• Execute the agreed upon technology strategy based on OKR

• Strategizing, designing and implementing highly efficientsolutionon Public Cloud (Amazon Web Services, Azure or GCP) for security, resilience,performant, networking, availability, Blue-green deployments in context of business application.

• Responsible for defining the System Development Life Cycle methodology and associated cross-functional tools to ensure adoption and continuous improvement.

• Understand the global state of the art in commercial cloud and open-source operations

• Prioritize our efforts to raise the bar on complex software-defined infrastructure

• Ensure processes and training are in place for continuous improvement in our services

• Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices

Team and Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop teams of engineers spanning across time zones

• Advocate modern, agile software development practices

• Hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development

• Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization

• Coordinate with management and external stakeholders or customers

• Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values

• Set and manage expectations with other engineering and operational teams

• Global travel up to 5% of time for internal and external events

Who you are
