Job summary

Utkarsh Placement in India seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead the process design team for the Specialty Chemicals division. You will coordinate with Operations, Engineering and QHSE to commercialize new molecules, guide scale-up, and ensure process feasibility and safety across lab to plant scale.

The role requires 18–25 years in process engineering for specialty chemicals/agrochemicals, with BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and a background in specialty chemicals ideal.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering required.
• 18–25 years experience in process engineering of specialty chemicals/agrochemicals.
• Desirable: specialty chemicals industry background.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Design team for Specialty Chemicals division.
• Coordinate with site functions for smooth commercialization of new molecules.
• Guide team through scale-up and deviations trials at R&D and plant scale.
• Ensure feasibility of processes on industrial scale and cost targets.
• Oversee hazardous analysis and safety safeguards during process design.
• Provide process engineering support from concept to commissioning of new molecules.
• Lead in-house basic engineering for Capex projects and supplier selection.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• To Lead Process Design team for Specialty Chemicals division
• Coordination with other site functions for smooth commercialization of new molecule
• Capability to handle the team & multiple products commercialization with decision making ability
• Receive & absorb new molecule manufacturing process from R&D
• Observe lab demo for critical stages
• Suggest possible deviations in process on plant scale & accordingly ensure process performance with deviation trials at R&D scale
• Ensure feasibility of the process on industrial scale
• Lead Hazard identification & safeguard defining activity for the process
• Suggestion & guide to Conduct engineering lab studies to generate scale-up data
• Define process performance at lab scale & calculate variable cost
• Review pilot scale study activity & guide the team to achieve desired process performance
• Review Conceptual Design to implement new molecule process at plant scale
• Align site team (Operations, Engineering & QHSE team) on conceptual design
• Lead initial project costing activity, align with business-on-business case
• Lead inhouse Basic Engineering preparation for Capex projects (New products as well as improvements in existing products)
• Define scope, specification & suppliers for special equipment systems
• Review Engineering modifications proposed to implement at plant scale
• Guide the team on PHA study as process expert (for critical High Hazard stages)
• Provide process engineering support from concept to commissioning of the new molecule
• Lead process commissioning activities along with operation team, R&D team, QC team, engineering team and establish process performance (Quality, Yield, waste generation & treatment, capacity & safety)
• Guide the team of process engineers to handle above activities
• Ensure development of the process engineering team

Qualifications & Experience

• Education-BE/B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering with.
• Experience-18-25 years of experience in Process Engineering of specialty chemicals, agrochemicals fields
• Desirable Industry Background-Specialty Chemicals .
