Job summary

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience on US architecture projects.
• 10+ years in architecture with focus on technical documentation and complex project delivery.
• B.Arch or M.Arch.
• Proven leadership of large architectural/engineering production teams (50+).
• Deep expertise in US construction documentation standards and detailing practices.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, constructability and coordination.
• Experience scaling design teams, defining standards and training.
• Ability to deliver to deadlines within fixed budgets.
• Experience using ERP solutions to drive efficiency.
• Advanced Revit proficiency and documentation workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the India-based counterpart to US design leaders for cross-time-zone collaboration.

Job Description

We are hiring a Director, Design to build and lead the Architecture capability within a global delivery organization. This is a founding leadership role. You will grow the India team beyond production support into a technically rigorous architectural capability that works as a seamless extension of US-based design leadership. Over time, the role will scale a 100+ person architecture and engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical authority for architectural design, documentation and constructability.
• Set and govern documentation standards, detailing protocols, drawing set organization and QA/QC systems aligned with US expectations.
• Oversee coordinated architectural drawing packages through all design phases, including Construction Documents.
• Direct daily architectural production across design development and construction documentation, delivering on schedule and within fixed budgets.
• Standardize workflows for interoperability with US design teams, with a focus on predictability, scalability and reduced rework.
• Run KPI-based performance management on accuracy, timeliness and rework, using the design ERP to manage team performance.
• Evaluate and implement digital design tools, documentation automation and AI-assisted design, working with Design Technology, Digital Delivery and AI teams.
• Ensure workflows align with Revit standards and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Hire, mentor and scale the team, and build training frameworks, competency benchmarks and career paths.
• Serve as the primary India-based counterpart to US design leaders, enabling smooth cross-time-zone collaboration.

Mandatory Requirements

• Hands-on experience on US architecture projects is mandatory. Candidates without US project experience will not be considered.
• 10+ years in architecture with a strong focus on technical documentation and complex project delivery.
• B.Arch or M.Arch.
• Proven leadership of large architectural or engineering production teams of 50+, preferably in global or distributed delivery.
• Deep expertise in US construction documentation standards, detailing practices and coordinated drawing production.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, constructability, sequencing and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience building or scaling design teams, including defining standards, hiring and technical training.
• Strong operational discipline in delivering to deadlines and fixed budgets.
• Experience using ERP solutions to drive efficiency and profitability.
• Advanced Revit proficiency and architectural documentation workflows.
• Exceptional written and verbal English, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bangalore.

Preferred

• Familiarity with model-based documentation, structured data integration and digital design environments.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on style, comfortable building processes from scratch and scaling fast.
