purpose of the job

This strategic leadership role provides direction for all external and internal communications activities as well as Public Affairs and CSR activities in India. You are accountable for the performance and execution of a corporate affairs strategy that supports all business specializations - Operational, Professional, Enterprise and Digital and GCC in the country. You will work closely with other business and functional leaders to raise the profile and reputation of Randstad in India. This is a One Randstad role.


Corporate Affairs Strategy: Design and implement a unified corporate affairs strategy that drives Randstad’s reputation as a "Partner for Talent" within the Indian market. This involves a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple disciplines to ensure that communication and public affairs plans align with the company’s goals and culture and creates growth opportunities.


External Communications and Thought Leadership: Act as the strategic lead for all Indian media relations and external positioning, blending the global strategic narrative with local business nuance. You are responsible for the local implementation, tailoring, and amplification of thought leadership to ensure it resonates with Indian client audiences and market trends. You will provide high-level strategic counsel and media coaching to the India Leadership Team to maximize share of voice.


Public Affairs: drives high-stakes advocacy by navigating complex regulatory landscapes and engaging directly with senior government officials. By synthesizing political monitoring into expert executive counsel, the role identifies legislative risks while spearheading industry coalitions to align on common goals. Acting as a strategic bridge, the leader ensures a unified global position through measurable, impactful reporting to the leadership team.


Employee and Leadership communications: Act as a strategic communications advisor to the India executive team, ensuring the employee voice informs all business decisions. Responsible for developing the strategic narrative, key messages, and activation ideas to support the company’s engagement, change, and transformation agenda in India. Develop communication materials for executive announcements, town halls, and other leadership engagements.


CSR: Responsible for Randstad India’s approach to sustainability and CSR, including alignment of strategy with the business and NGO partners. Works with HR to ensure the volunteerism approach is in alignment with our employee engagement and growth objectives.


Transformation communications: You will lead the activation of strategic narratives that drive growth, large-scale transformation, and change management, aligning stakeholders with the Partner for Talent strategy. By championing the Employee Value Proposition (EVP) through impactful storytelling and town halls, you will inspire talent and foster engagement.


Communications channels: Oversee the use of various communication channels such as intranet, email newsletters, and company events. Ensure the effective dissemination of information through these channels via the internal and external communications team, and work closely with the HR and Marketing teams to align messaging across all channels and campaigns. Ensure that all communications are consistent with the company’s brand and messaging.


Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor media coverage, social media trends, and employee sentiment related to the organisation, and provide insights and recommendations to enhance communication strategies and mitigate risks.


Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual communications and public affairs budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve communication goals efficiently.


Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing corporate affairs team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to maximize team effectiveness and individual growth across the specialised skills areas of the team to deliver on the business and communications strategy.


your background

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field, and proven experience (15+ years) in corporate communications, public relations, brand, or related roles.


At least 5-7 years in a leadership position at India level.

Strong media relations expertise, with experience in managing media inquiries, securing coverage, and handling crisis communication situations.


Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks, industry trends, and best practices in external communications.
