Years of experience: 8–10+ years of progressive accounting and reporting experience, with strong SEC and US GAAP expertise.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director – Controller (Finance) to lead our SEC reporting and technical accounting function. This role is critical in ensuring financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge in US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SEC reporting, and has the leadership capability to scale public-company-grade processes.

Key Responsibilities

SEC Reporting

·Lead preparation and timely filing of all SEC reports: S-4, S-1, 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Proxy statements, and investor-related filings.

·Manage the external SEC reporting process using tools like Workiva, ensuring XBRL tagging and reporting accuracy.

Technical Accounting

·Research, evaluate, and implement new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 805).

·Draft technical memos and position papers on transactions like business combinations, warrant accounting, or equity financing.

·Partner with auditors to ensure a clean audit opinion under PCAOB standards.

Audit & Internal Controls

·Act as the lead liaison for PCAOB auditors during audits.

·Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls in compliance with SOX 404.

·Ensure accurate and timely monthly close (target: <10 days).

·Build and lead an accounting team handling GL, consolidations, and financial reporting.

·Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members.

·Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, FP&A, Tax, and IR teams.

Tools & Systems

·Experience with Workiva, NetSuite, FloQast, or similar tools.

·Prior experience in SOX 404 implementation.

Required Qualifications

·CPA is mandatory; public accounting experience at Big 4 or national firm strongly preferred.

·8–10+ years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in a public or pre-IPO company.

·Deep understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SEC compliance.

·Strong exposure to IPO/M&A reporting processes.
