Job summary

Optum India is seeking a Senior Tech Lead to drive a team consolidating multiple application instances into a single .NET-based platform. You will establish code quality standards, mentor teams, review code, and advocate modern design patterns.

You will oversee 30+ engineers, manage performance and policy compliance, coordinate with stakeholders, and influence architectural decisions with REST services, cloud concepts, and CI/CD tooling such as SonarQube, Jenkins, and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Bachelors (BS/BE) in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience building and shipping production web-enabled software in a scaled distributed environment using modern technologies (.Net, JavaScript, Node, Angular) and MS SQL.
• 3+ years contributing to architecture and design (patterns, reliability, scaling) of new/current systems including RESTful services.
• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe features, designs, and strategy.
• Expertise with public cloud concepts & experience influencing software engineering best practices.
• Good understanding of development processes and tools - Sonar, Jenkins, GitHub, CI/CD.
• Strong fundamentals in object-oriented design, databases, algorithms, and debugging.
• Flexible to accommodate different time zones and strong cross-team collaboration.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with cross-department teams.
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to resolve ambiguous requirements and drive clarity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a team that is consolidating multiple instances of the application into single instance (.Net Based)
• Establish and control code quality standards, development best practices, defect‑free code delivery for the teams
• Enable teams to be successful in modern designs and patterns by providing guidance, mentoring, and code reviews

• Manage performance and development of team members, including policy administration, compliance, coaching, disciplinary action and recognition

• Managing team of 30+ team members

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors (BS / BE) in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of experience building and shipping production web enabled software in a scaled distributed environment using a variety of modern technologies (.Net, JavaScript, Node, Angular) and a variety of modern database technologies (MS SQL)
• 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, including RESTful web services
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Expertise with public cloud concepts & experience influencing software engineering best practices
• Good understanding of Development processes and tools - Sonar, Jenkins, GitHub, CI / CD
• Thorough understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles: object‑oriented design, structured design, databases, algorithms, data structures, usability, debugging, and configuration management
• Flexible to accommodate different time zone across globe
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal skills with the ability to create and maintain strong relationships with members of cross departmental teams
• Proven sharp problem-solving skills and ability to resolve ambiguous requirements and drive clarity
