Job summary

Knorr Bremse is seeking fresh Diploma graduates for a hands-on training and development program in Pune, followed by assignment as Operating Engineers for the Chennai Greenfield project.

The program spans about 1.5 years and focuses on manufacturing, maintenance, quality, safety and continuous improvement. Successful trainees will help establish shop-floor processes and enable a smooth ramp-up at Chennai.

Qualifications

• Fresh Diploma graduates / early-career candidates from Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
• Strong technical aptitude, willingness to learn, good communication, teamwork and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to undergo an extended training program in Pune.

Responsibilities

• Undergo a structured training and hands-on development program in Pune for ~1.5 years.
• Training covers manufacturing and assembly processes, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality & safety.
• Develop shop-floor systems and problem-solving skills for the Chennai Greenfield project.
• After training, join as operating engineers to establish processes and ramp up the Chennai plant.

Candidate Profile

The candidates should demonstrate strong technical aptitude, willingness to learn, interest in manufacturing and shop-floor operations, and good communication, teamwork and problem-solving capabilities. Willingness to undergo an extended training program in Pune will be an essential requirement.

Role & responsibilities

The selected candidates will undergo a structured training and hands-on development program in Pune for approximately 1.5 years, covering:

• Manufacturing and assembly processes
• Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance
• Equipment troubleshooting and breakdown management
• Quality, Safety and Operational Excellence
• Shop-floor systems and problem-solving
• Continuous Improvement and advanced manufacturing practices

Following the training, this group will form the pioneering batch of Operating Engineers for the Chennai Greenfield project. They will play a key role in establishing shop-floor processes, supporting plant ramp-up and subsequently transferring their knowledge and capabilities to future employees joining the Chennai operation.
