Dimensional Management Engineer

1. Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring dimensional integrity of vehicle systems by managing variation throughout product design and manufacturing processes. The role involves tolerance analysis, datum strategy validation, and driving dimensional quality across, DMBI, and DPV phases.

• Candidates expected to have both digital and practical experience in minimum one off the following domain in automotive OEM / Tier-1 / Engineering Services
• Sheet metal part process, die design, panel checker, press shop activities for quality part production.
• BIW assembly process, build sequence, clamp plan, fixture design, fixture manufacturing, assembly inspection, weld shop practice to produce quality assembly delivery to next process.
• Trim part Mold design, manufacturing, part checking fixture design, validation, Mold shop production for supply quality parts for automobile trim application.
• Lead / specialist.

Candidates Expected to complete 4 or more project in one or more above domains. Lead the project from start to finish.

Qualification & Experience

• Education : B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Automotive Engineering

Technical Skills

• In depth awareness in welding processes (spot, MIG, etc.)
• Sheet metal part quality parameters both visual as well as dimensional
• Trim part quality parameters Both table-top and dimensional
• Material standards for appropriate applications, strength and limitations.
• Awareness of CTQ parameters in BIW and chassis and trim parts.
• Awareness of plastic part development process.
• Awareness of CMM machines and its application
• Troubleshooting of welding fixtures, dies, Molds
