Job Summary

Sanlayan Technologies is seeking a Digital Hardware Design Engineer with 4+ years of experience to design and develop high-performance embedded electronic hardware for advanced computing, radar, communication, and defence platforms. The engineer will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and integration of FPGA and processor-based hardware systems, including high-speed digital interfaces and mixed-signal circuits. The role involves component selection, schematic design, board bring-up, debugging, and system-level validation.

The candidate will work closely with FPGA, firmware, RF, mechanical, and system engineering teams, contributing to the complete hardware development lifecycle from architecture definition and design to verification, integration, and production support.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-speed digital and mixed-signal hardware for embedded systems.
  • Perform component selection, schematic capture, and hardware architecture definition.
  • Develop schematics using Cadence OrCAD / Allegro design tools.
  • Support PCB layout reviews, stack-up definition, and high-speed routing guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) principles.
  • Design hardware platforms incorporating FPGAs, processors, and microcontrollers.
  • Implement and integrate high-speed interfaces such as: DDR memory, JESD204B/C, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C
  • Design and validate power architectures including DC-DC converters, LDO regulators, and power sequencing circuits.
  • Interface with ADC/DAC devices and mixed-signal subsystems.
  • Support board bring-up, debugging, and hardware validation activities.
  • Perform Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and thermal analysis during hardware development.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment including: Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Signal generators, Power analyzers
  • Prepare hardware design documentation, test procedures, validation reports, and design review materials.
  • Collaborate with system, firmware, FPGA, RF, and mechanical engineering teams for successful system integration.

Education

B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics Engineering


Experience

3+ years of experience specific to Mixed high speed design is notable.


Technical Skills
  • Strong fundamentals in digital electronics and embedded hardware design.
  • Basic understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Experience with high-speed digital hardware design.
  • Familiarity with hardware development lifecycle from design to production.
  • Proficiency in Cadence OrCAD / Allegro schematic design tools.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret component datasheets, application notes, and reference designs.
  • Understanding of clock architecture, reset design, and power sequencing.
  • Knowledge of high-speed interface design such as DDR, PCIe, and Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with: Derating analysis, MTBF and reliability calculations, Power analysis, Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), Thermal considerations & Experience in hardware debugging and validation using lab instrumentation.
