Job summary

Capgemini seeks a skilled SCADA Engineer to design, develop, and support Ignition-based automation solutions in the Pune/Mumbai region. You will work on Perspective and Vision interfaces, tag structures, UDTs, scripting, and PLC integration within established SDLC practices.

The ideal candidate has 4–6 years of overall experience with at least 3 years in Ignition SCADA development, strong Python/Jython scripting, and hands-on experience with OPC UA, MQTT, Kepware, and historian configuration.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years total experience with 3+ years Ignition SCADA development.
• Expertise in Ignition Perspective, Vision, scripting, tag management, alarms and historian.
• Experience integrating PLCs and field devices via OPC UA, MQTT, Kepware.
• Proficient in Python/Jython and REST APIs.
• Strong SDLC/process awareness and code quality practices.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled SCADA Engineer – Ignition Platform with hands‑on experience in designing, developing, and supporting industrial automation and SCADA solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the Ignition platform.

Required Skills

• Skilled in Ignition SCADA development, including Perspective, Vision, tag structures, UDTs, scripting, and PLC integrations.
• Familiar with OPC UA, MQTT, Kepware, and standard industrial communication protocols.
• Strong in backend scripting, API integration, and working within predefined architectures and SDLC processes.
• Exposure to modern SCADA UI/UX practices and ability to build clean, structured interfaces.
• Solid SQL (PostgreSQL) skills with understanding of schemas, data relationships, and operational/historian data.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 4–6 years of overall experience with at least 3+ years of hands‑on experience in Ignition SCADA development.
