Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking an experienced Ignition SCADA/HMI specialist to work with clients on end-to-end Ignition projects. The role involves requirement analysis, system design, and hands-on configuration, deployment, and optimization of Ignition-based solutions.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in industrial automation, with strong experience in PLC integration (Mitsubishi/Omron), OPC-UA, MQTT, and data visualization, and a background in consulting or client-facing settings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in industrial SCADA/HMI or MES platforms.
• Proven hands-on with Ignition by Inductive Automation, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a consulting environment or direct client interaction is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Client Requirement Analysis: Gather business and technical requirements for Ignition projects and translate into system designs.
• Ignition Implementation: Configure, deploy, and optimize Ignition SCADA/HMI systems for real-time monitoring and control.
• Integration: Integrate Ignition with PLCs (Mitsubishi/Omron), ERP, MES, and databases using OPC-UA, MQTT, and other protocols.

Job description

• Client Requirement Analysis: Work closely with clients to gather business and technical requirements for Ignition SCADA/HMI projects. Analyze their current processes, and translate these needs into system designs.
• Ignition Implementation: Configure, deploy, and optimize Ignition SCADA/HMI systems for real-time monitoring and control of plant floor operations, process automation, and data visualization. Strong understanding of ladder logic.
• Integration: Ensure smooth integration of Ignition with industrial devices such as PLCs (Mitsubishi or Omron), ERP systems, MES platforms, and third-party databases. Leverage Ignition's OPC-UA, MQTT, and other industrial protocols for seamless data flow. Experience programming, installing, and troubleshooting manufacturing image vision systems such as Keyence and Cognex.
• Consultation & Best Practices: Advise clients on best practices for Ignition implementation, optimization, and maintenance. Offer expert recommendations for improving operational efficiency and system scalability.
• Training & Documentation: Deliver end-user training to client teams on how to operate, configure, and maintain Ignition systems. Prepare detailed documentation for system configurations, custom scripts, and maintenance procedures. Advanced knowledge of best manufacturing and programming practices such as ISA standards and compliance.

Experience:

• 8+ years of experience working with industrial SCADA, HMI, or MES platforms.
• Proven hands-on experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation, including system design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in a consulting environment or working directly with clients on industrial automation projects is highly preferred.
