Job description

CXOntology is looking for a Digital Architect who can lead solution design and delivery across digital experience programs. The role needs someone who understands CMS platforms, commerce platforms, marketing technology, analytics, and consulting-led delivery.

This person will work with clients, internal delivery teams, stakeholders, and executive teams to define the right solution, guide implementation, own technical direction, and ensure the team delivers business outcomes, not just tasks.

Minimum Expectations:

• Experience working on 2+ CMS platforms, such as Drupal/Acquia, Contentful, Contentstack, AEM, Optimizely, Sitecore, or similar.
• Experience with at least one commerce platform, such as Shopify, Adobe Commerce/Magento, BigCommerce, commercetools, or similar.
• Understanding of marketing technology stacks, including CRM, marketing automation, CDP/personalization, campaign operations, and customer journey activation.
• Working knowledge of analytics and measurement, including GA4, GTM, attribution, conversion tracking, dashboards, and KPI reporting.
• Ability to lead strategy and consulting conversations with clients, including discovery, current-state assessment, roadmap definition, and recommendation framing.
• Strong solution design capability across CMS, commerce, integrations, front-end, cloud, analytics, and marketing technology.
• Ability to take delivery ownership for technical decisions, risks, dependencies, estimates, implementation quality, and release readiness.
• Experience collaborating with client stakeholders and executive teams, translating technical choices into business impact.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture and solution design for digital experience, commerce, marketing technology, and analytics-led programs.
• Own technical discovery and translate business goals into clear platform and implementation recommendations.
• Define solution blueprints, integration approaches, technical roadmaps, and delivery plans.
• Guide the delivery team across engineers, QA, DevOps, UX, analytics, and marketing operations teams.
• Review technical designs, unblock delivery teams, and ensure implementation quality.
• Identify platform risks, technical debt, dependencies, and ownership gaps early.
• Support managed services, migrations, CRO, platform optimization, and AI-enabled digital workflows.
• Communicate clearly with client stakeholders, senior leadership, and executive sponsors.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years in digital platforms, CMS, commerce, MarTech, web engineering, solution consulting.
• 4+ years in an architect, lead engineer, technical consultant, solution design role.
• Hands-on background in CMS, commerce, integrations, front-end, cloud delivery.
• Strong understanding of performance, accessibility, SEO, security, analytics, QA, and release governance.
• Ability to work across business, technology, marketing, and delivery teams.
