The role requires 8–15 years of die design experience, strong knowledge of metal forming processes, and proficiency in CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of metal forming processes, die types, tolerances and materials.
• Proficiency with CAD software (VISI/NX, CATIA).
• Familiar with GD&T, machining, and tool room practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop dies for sheet metal components including progressive, transfer, and stage dies.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD models using CAD software such as VISI/NX/CATIA.
• Interpret drawings and define die requirements (materials, press capacity, tolerances).
• Perform DFM reviews to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed die design drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists and manufacturing teams for die build and try-out.
• Troubleshoot die issues and modify designs for optimization during production.
• Maintain documentation for die maintenance, revisions and engineering changes.
• Ensure designs meet quality, safety and efficiency standards.

We are seeking a skilled Die Design Engineer with expertise in sheet metal forming processes to design, develop, and optimize progressive, compound, and transfer dies. The ideal candidate will work closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to deliver high-precision tooling solutions that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop dies for sheet metal components including progressive, Transfer, and Stage dies.
• Create 2D and 3D CAD models using software such as VISI preferable/ NX, Catia
• Analyse part drawings and define die requirements (material type, press capacity, tolerances, etc.).
• Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews to ensure tool feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed die design drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, and manufacturing teams to support die build and try-out.
• Troubleshoot die issues and make modifications for optimization during try-outs or production.
• Maintain documentation for die maintenance, revisions, and engineering changes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, or related field.
• 8-15 years of experience in die design for sheet metal parts.
• Strong knowledge of metal forming processes, die types, tolerances, and materials.
• Proficiency in CAD Software (VISI preferable/ NX, CATIA).
• Familiarity with GD&T, machining, and tool room practices.
• Good understanding of Press Operations and sheet metal behaviour.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
