Job summary

Birla Carbon in Uttar Pradesh seeks a seasoned Maintenance Manager to ensure maximum plant availability through mechanical and civil maintenance. You will review preventive and predictive schedules, monitor MTBF/MTTR of critical equipment, and supervise planned shutdowns to guarantee safe, trouble-free operation.

The role drives continual improvement, spare parts planning, system management for ISO/TS 16949, ISO 50001, SA 8000, and ISO 14001, and people development.

KRA1 Mechanical & Civil Maintenance

Ensure maximum availability of plant and machinery s for trouble free operation of the plant. - Review preventive & predictive maintenance schedule.

• Monitor MTBF/ MTTR of all critical equipment s for improvement.
• To insure the compliance of planned shutdown maintenance of equipment
• To ensure the activities done to comply Preventive and Predictive Maintenance.
• To ensure the compliance of all non conformances observed through the various sources and plan for the Corrective and Preventive actions.
• Maintain equipment history and to review the nature of abnormalities.
• Ensure effective painting of Plant and equipment s to life and house keeping.

KRA2 Continual Improvement

Continuous up-gradation of Mechanical systems for their efficient and uninterrupted operation. - Work out all technical and commercial aspects of modification and proposed benefits expected out of it and submit for approval of Sr. Management.

• Planning complete Project works and identification of critical and floating activities. Mobilization of resources.
• Review & monitoring of work progress.
• Resulting completion of job within time fame & budget.

KRA3 Spare parts Management

Ensure availability of spares for trouble free operation of plant. - Identify Critical spares

• Review consumption of spare on monthly basis
• Plan and monitor procurement action for all spares and other materials.
• Co-ordination with Purchase & store dept. to optimize inventory level.

KRA4 System Management

Plan standardization of Maintenance Management System and ensure its compliance to achieve reliable maintenance Ensure implementation of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 50001, SA 8000, ISO :14001, IQMM

Review procedure & work instruction related to Mech. maint. as required by Systems.

• Co-ordinate & Liaison with internal & external Auditors.
• Ensure compliance of legal & statutory requirments.

KRA5 People Development

Motivate and ensure development of teams through various HR initiatives to raise competency level. - Encourage dept. employees for participation in QC, KSS, Dept. meeting & Communication meet..

• Clear job description and delegation
• Monitor performance & plan for training through performance appraisal system.
• Identifying training needs of sub-ordinates and imparting training.
• Imparting behavioral training for people motivation and sensitization towards customer approach.

KRA6 Cost Control

To initiate and implement cost reduction measures to reduce maintenance cost - In house fabrication of critical spares/ equipment

• To review the list of slow moving items and take appropriate action.
• To develop vendors for import substitution and OEM supplied spares and services.
• Ensure elimination of wastage during maintenance activities.
• Utilization of surplus material

KRA7 Maintenance of turbine/ boiler and utility equipment’s - Develop the plan to improve the availability of turbines/ boiler for smooth generation of power.

• Review preventive and predictive maintenance schedule
• Organize planned shutdown maintenance of equipment to ensure the activities done to comply preventive and predictive maintenance without slippage.

KRA8 Civil Maintenance

Planning and execution of civil maintenance jobs to ensure smooth plant operation and upkeep of township. - Effective planning and implementation of civil maintenance jobs including manpower planning, materials planning, coordination with contractors, site supervisors, measurement and bill passing for ensuring quality civil work.
