Job summary

Smartworld Developers in Gurugram invites an experienced MEP Design & Planning engineer to lead design reviews, coordinate with architects, consultants and structural teams, and optimize layouts for cost efficiency and sustainability on complex projects.

You will oversee on-site execution, monitor progress against timelines and budgets, ensure NBC/IS code compliance and energy-efficient practices, manage vendors and contracts, and drive testing, commissioning and smooth handover.

Responsibilities

• Review and finalize MEP designs, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and structural teams
• Ensure design optimization for cost efficiency and sustainability
• Validate BOQs, technical submittals, and shop drawings
• Lead on-site MEP execution activities
• Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety norms
• Resolve site-level technical challenges
• Identify and onboard MEP contractors and vendors
• Manage contracts, negotiations, and performance evaluation
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Liaise with internal teams (civil, procurement, finance)
• Coordinate with government authorities and consultants
• Ensure smooth communication across all stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with NBC, IS codes, fire safety, and local regulations
• Conduct periodic inspections and audits
• Implement best practices for energy efficiency and green buildings
• Monitor and control MEP project costs
• Optimize procurement and reduce wastage
• Prepare cost estimates and track deviations
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover
• Ensure all systems are functioning as per design
• Support facility management during handover phase

Job description

1. MEP Design & Planning
