Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC seeks a seasoned safety leader to oversee the implementation of safety procedures at the shipyard and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

The role requires 15–20 years of experience, ME degree, and strong capabilities in risk assessment, incident investigations, and emergency planning to safeguard workers and assets at Kattupalli.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of health & safety laws and shipyard requirements.
• Experience with risk assessment and emergency planning.
• ME degree or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety procedures at the yard.
• Identify and update legal health & safety requirements including corporate, shop and shipyard rules.
• Assist in investigation of accidents or incidents.
• Assist in Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment and Aspect & Impact Analysis for the shipyard.
• Develop safety procedures for the shipyard per risk levels.
• Periodically review Occupational Control Procedures and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment.
• Prepare and review emergency plans.
• Conduct EHS training.
• Organize campaigns and activities to promote safety among workers.

Job Description

1) Responsible for effective implementation of safety procedures at yard.

3) Identification and updating of the legal requirements pertaining to health & Safety requirements. This will include corporate, Shops and Shipyard requirements besides other requirements.

4) Responsible in assisting the investigation of accident or incident.

5) Assist in Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment and Aspect & Impact Analysis for Shipyard.

6) To develop safety procedures for the Shipyard as per the risk levels.

7) Periodical review of Occupational Control Procedures and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment.

8) Preparing and reviewing Emergency plan

9) Conduct EHS Training.

10) To organize in association with the concerned department, campaign, competitions, contests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safety conditions of work and procedure.
