Job summary
Mount Talent Consulting in Chennai seeks a DevOps Manager to lead a blend of DevOps architect, DevOps Lead and Evangelist responsibilities. The role focuses on spreading DevOps thinking, assessing maturity, and driving an end-to-end DevOps framework across Platform Teams.
The candidate will architect cloud deployments, guide CI/CD improvements, and ensure scalable, secure, and cost-optimized DevOps solutions with hands-on support as needed.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading a DevOps initiative within a large enterprise IT.
- Advocating teams to adopt DevOps culture and collaboration.
- Understanding the dynamics between people, process and tools in DevOps.
- Expert knowledge of intersection between development and operations, monitoring, and deployment tools.
- Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services and their DevOps offerings.
- Familiar with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, VSTS, TFS and Git.
- Security knowledge including SAST.
- End-to-end automation testing in a DevOps setup.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and related tools.
- Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Understand and spread DevOps thoughts, point of view, and transformation concepts to Platform Teams.
- Perform DevOps Maturity assessment and propose areas of improvement & Roadmap to implement recommendations.
- Propose & recommend an E2E DevOps framework which includes Guidelines, Standards, Practice, Culture & Technology.
- Architect custom DevOps solutions for applications moving to the cloud.
- Advise/Design/Define better scalability, reliability, and CI/CD mechanism.
- Guide DevOps squad & platform teams in the implementation of the DevOps architecture.
- Get hands-on when required to solve technical challenges and perform research when dealing with unknowns.
- Create processes and tests to support full end to end automation of software delivery (CI/CD).
- Design and implement DevOps solutions which are secure, scalable, resilient, monitored, auditable and cost optimized.

The role has a mix of DevOps architect, DevOps Lead & DevOps Evangelist

- Should have tremendous experience in advocating teams to adopt DevOps culture and collaboration.
- Clear Understanding of the dynamics between people, process and tools in DevOps.
- Possesses expert technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools
- Possesses high level understanding in the areas of web application programming, content management systems, API, databases, and system design.
- Good Knowledge on cloud service like AWS & Azure and the DevOps services that they offer.
- Good understanding of the SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps principles
- Good knowledge of application development/deployment using Agile, and DevOps best practices (Azure DevOps, VSTS, TFS, Git)
- Extensive knowledge on Security and SAST.
- Experience with E2E Automation Testing in a DevOps setup.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as a code (IaC) and related tools & services.
- Good knowledge on Containerization (Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS etc)
- Good to have experience with cutting edge DevOps practices like Shift Left, Blue Green Deployment, Canary, Chaos Engineering, etc.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate both technical issues to non-technical and technical audiences
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Leaders, developers, product owners, and subject matter experts
