Job summary

Virtusa is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer in Hyderabad to own cloud architecture for banking-grade applications. You will design and automate scalable CI/CD pipelines, manage AWS infrastructure, and lead critical decisions on security, reliability, and observability.

The role requires 15+ years of hands-on experience, strong Golang expertise, and deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native patterns. You will mentor teams and collaborate across DevOps, QA, and security groups.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on DevOps/Cloud architecture experience across large-scale deployments.
• Proficient in Golang with strong programming fundamentals.
• Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, Glue) and security/compliance.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize disaster recovery and backup strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions and governance for cloud-native banking applications.
• Design scalable CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure with Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Provision and manage AWS infra with Terraform; implement cost optimization and security controls.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and security teams to ensure reliability and observability.
• Mentor junior architects and developers, and enforce architectural standards.

Job Requirements

DevOPs engineers mandatorily with Golang programming and some other programming experience at intermediate level

15+ years of hands-on experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, CI/CD, REST APIs, Docker, Spring boot,

Microservices Solid understanding of AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, Glue Jobs, S3, and RDS. Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Python/Shell. Strong Database integration around RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, MongoDB Hands-on practical experience in system/solution design, and operational stability that align with business goals and requirements considering factors like performance, security, reliability, availability, observability, and compliance. Experience in provisioning AWS infrastructure through Terraform. Experience with Kafka for building event-driven architectures. Architect and manage enterprise-level databases with 24/7 availability Lead efforts on optimization, backup, and disaster recovery planning Design and manage scalable CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native apps Automate infrastructure using Terraform/CloudFormation Implement container orchestration using EKS and ECS Ensure cloud security, compliance, and cost optimization Monitor performance and implement high-availability setups Collaborate with dev, QA, and security teams; drive architecture decisions Knowledge of data architecture, analytics, and AI/ML applications in banking. Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar. Mentor and guide junior architects and development teams. Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and governance processes. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes impacting banking product.
