Job summary

UST in Trivandrum seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer with 6+ years of experience to design and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps for scalable deployments.

You will drive RoD processes, monitor pipelines with Datadog, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve deployment speed, reliability, and platform scalability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Implement and manage GitOps practices for infrastructure and application delivery.
• Manage repository structures, version control strategies, and deployment workflows through GitOps principles.
• Configure and maintain pipeline orchestration, triggers, and scheduling mechanisms.
• Drive Release on Demand (RoD) processes to enable faster, controlled production releases.
• Ensure secure handling of configuration and deployment artifacts within CI/CD environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize CI/CD pipeline performance and reliability.
• Utilize Datadog dashboards and logs to provide operational visibility and incident analysis.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to integrate DevOps best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Improve deployment frequency and reduce failure rates through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support containerized application deployment and management using Docker.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, availability, and scalability standards across the CI/CD ecosystem.

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, and CI/CD automation practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable deployment pipelines, driving GitOps-based infrastructure and application management, supporting Release on Demand processes, and ensuring operational visibility through monitoring and observability solutions. This role requires close collaboration with development teams to improve deployment efficiency, reliability, and platform scalability

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Datadog dashboards, logging, monitoring, and observability.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with release automation and deployment strategies such as Blue-Green, Canary, and Rolling deployments.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with GitLab Runner and pipeline optimization.
• Knowledge of incident management, monitoring, alerting, and operational observability.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong hands‑on experience in GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience managing deployment workflows in enterprise‑scale environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with development, QA, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams.
