Job summary

Kumaran Systems is seeking a DevOps Engineer with 6+ years of experience focusing on GitHub Actions and robust CI/CD pipelines. You will design and maintain pipelines, automate IaC, and collaborate with development, QA, and infra teams to enhance reliability and speed of software delivery.

Responsibilities include implementing IaC (Terraform/ CloudFormation), managing AWS/Azure/GCP workloads, and ensuring security and governance within pipelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/Build & Release Engineering.
• Strong expertise in GitHub Actions: creating and managing workflows, reusable workflows, and actions.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, branching strategies, and release management.
• Practical experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash or Python.
• Knowledge of Linux-based systems administration and networking basics.
• Experience integrating testing frameworks, code quality tools, and security scanners into pipelines.
• Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools and practices.

Role Summary

A DevOps Engineer with 6 years of experience specializing in GitHub Actions is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient software delivery. This role collaborates closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to automate processes, enhance system reliability, and improve deployment speed and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• CI/CD Pipeline Design & Implementation
  • Architect, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines usingGitHub Actions.
  • Configure workflows for build, test, security scanning, and deployment across multiple environments.
  • Optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and cost.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such asTerraform,CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration management, and application deployments.
  • Develop reusable automation scripts (e.g.,Shell,Python,PowerShell) for operational tasks.
• Cloud & Container Platforms
  • Manage and support workloads on cloud platforms such asAWS,Azure, orGCP.
  • Work with containerization technologies likeDockerand orchestration platforms likeKubernetesorEKS/AKS.
  • Implement scalable and highly available infrastructure solutions.
• Monitoring, Logging & Reliability
  • Configure monitoring and alerting using tools such asPrometheus,Grafana,CloudWatch, or equivalent.
  • Implement centralized logging usingELK/EFK,Splunk, or cloud-native solutions.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Security & Compliance in CI/CD
  • Integrate security tools (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning) into GitHub Actions workflows.
  • Manage secrets and credentials securely using GitHub Secrets, Vault, or cloud key management services.
  • Ensure CI/CD processes comply with organizational security and governance standards.
• Collaboration & DevOps Culture
  • Work closely with development teams to enable continuous integration and delivery best practices.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps methodologies, automation, and standardization across projects.
  • Document processes, pipelines, and infrastructure for maintainability and knowledge sharing.

  • Containers & orchestration:Docker, Kubernetes.
  • IaC tools:Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
• Strong scripting skills inBash,Python, or equivalent.

Preferred/Good-to-Have

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Education
