Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled GitHub Automation / Integration Engineer to join our Software Factory team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and Workflows, REST APIs, GraphQL, Webhooks, Python, and YAML.

The role will focus on developing automation workflows, integrating engineering tools and platforms, and building scalable solutions to improve software delivery, developer productivity, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows.
• Build and manage automated workflows using YAML.
• Develop integrations with internal and external systems using REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Design and implement Webhooks for event-driven automation and system integrations.
• Develop Python-based scripts and automation tools to streamline engineering processes.
• Integrate GitHub with DevOps, cloud, monitoring, and software development tools.
• Troubleshoot and optimize GitHub Actions workflows, including build, test, deployment, and release processes.
• Implement reusable workflows, actions, and automation components across projects.
• Manage authentication, authorization, API tokens, and secure integration practices.
• Monitor workflow execution and troubleshoot failures to ensure reliable CI/CD operations.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and platform teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Maintain technical documentation for workflows, APIs, integrations, and automation processes.
• Follow best practices for version control, code quality, security, and maintainability.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and GitHub Workflows.
• Good experience developing REST API integrations.
• Strong understanding of GraphQL APIs and query/mutation concepts.
• Experience implementing and consuming Webhooks.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Strong knowledge of YAML for workflow and configuration management.
• Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Git and GitHub-based development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub Automation, Platform Engineering, or Software Integration.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with GitHub API, GitHub Apps, authentication mechanisms, and enterprise GitHub environments is preferred.
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and automation frameworks is an added advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
