Job summary

Técnicas Reunidas in Bengaluru seeks a Backend & Integration Engineer to design and develop portable backend services for the Situational Awareness platform. You will implement APIs, alert and workflow services, and integrated connections with the Data Lake and enterprise systems across on-prem and cloud deployments.

The role requires strong Java and Spring Boot skills, experience with Kafka, SQL/PostgreSQL, Docker and CI/CD, and a disciplined approach to secure coding and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, electronics, or related field.
• 5–8 years of backend or integration engineering experience.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot with REST APIs and testing frameworks.
• Experience with Kafka-compatible event streaming and API integration.
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL experience with transactional data modelling.
• Practical Docker, Linux, CI/CD pipelines, OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect, and observability.
• Industrial-domain experience with Data Lakes, historians, asset systems, or operational platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement modular backend services, REST APIs, and event-driven interfaces.
• Develop governed adapters for the central Data Lake, historians, enterprise systems, and approved downstream platforms.
• Implement alert lifecycle, workflow, notification, audit, and configuration services.
• Integrate backend services with event-streaming and reliable messaging components using idempotent processing.
• Apply secure coding, clean architecture, API versioning, configuration abstraction, and database transaction practices.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews and technical documentation.
• Instrument services for logs, metrics, and traces and support performance and failure-recovery testing.
• Support Docker-based packaging and consistent deployment across On-Prem and Cloud levels.

Summary

The Backend & Integration Engineer will design and develop portable backend services for the Situational Awareness platform. • Industrial Domain: Experience integrating Data Lakes, historians, asset systems, or operational platforms.
