Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated cloud solutions that enable reliable, scalable, and secure platform operations. This role is heavily focused on software engineering, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD development, with an emphasis on eliminating manual operational activities through code-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate will develop and maintain Python-based applications, serverless workflows, and automated deployment pipelines across AWS environments. They will be responsible for building automation solutions using services such as AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, CloudFormation, and GitHub Actions while ensuring that all infrastructure and application changes are managed through version-controlled, automated deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python applications that automate cloud platform operations and business processes.
• Build and support event-driven and serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, DynamoDB, and other AWS services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring automated build, test, security scanning, and deployment workflows.
• Define and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CloudFormation and related automation frameworks.
• Create reusable automation frameworks, deployment templates, and platform tooling that improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency.
• Implement observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational automation to improve system reliability and reduce manual intervention.
• Collaborate with application, data, and platform engineering teams to design scalable and maintainable cloud-native solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across automated workflows, cloud services, and deployment pipelines.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, resiliency, and operational excellence initiatives through automation and testing.
• Promote engineering best practices including secure coding, automated testing, version control, code reviews, and DevOps methodologies.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience developing applications and automation solutions using Python.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Extensive experience with AWS services, including Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, S3, DynamoDB, Athena, Redshift, Systems Manager, VPC, Route 53, and related cloud-native technologies.
• Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and access management within AWS environments.
• Experience designing and supporting automated, event-driven, and serverless architectures.
• Experience working with source control systems, branching strategies, and automated release processes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to problem solving.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to deliver scalable, maintainable automation solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with additional cloud platforms such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices including automated testing, code quality analysis, and application observability.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams using tools such as Jira.
• Familiarity with data engineering and analytics services within AWS ecosystems.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
