In this role you will drive the architecture and operational excellence of CI/CD systems that power reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architecture and operational excellence of CI/CD systems that support reliable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
- Work closely with engineering, SRE, security, and platform teams to improve developer experience, standardize engineering practices, and build resilient cloud‑native infrastructure at scale.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and contribute to long‑term platform strategy while remaining hands‑on with implementation and automation.
- Design and evolve enterprise‑scale CI/CD platforms that support multi‑team and multi‑environment software delivery workflows.
- Build self‑service developer platform capabilities that simplify infrastructure provisioning, deployment automation, secrets management, and operational workflows.
- Improve software supply chain security, including artifact management, vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, workload identity, and secure deployment practices.
- Define and implement governance standards for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, access management, and cloud resource utilization.
- Drive observability and operational excellence across platform systems, including metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, and SLO‑based monitoring.
- Partner with application and reliability engineering teams to improve deployment reliability, release velocity, and incident response capabilities.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies in Kubernetes, container ecosystems, platform engineering, developer tooling, and cloud‑native security.
- Leverage AI‑driven development practices and tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve developer productivity and engineering efficiency.
- Participate in reviewing high‑level design documents covering architecture, scalability, reliability, security, operational impact, and deployment considerations for proposed changes.
- Participate in weekly on‑call and triage rotations.
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure engineering roles.
- Strong fundamental understanding and development experience in Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud‑native infrastructure, with hands‑on experience operating Amazon EKS and supporting CI/CD platforms at scale.
- Good understanding of CI/CD architecture, deployment automation, GitOps workflows, and developer platform engineering concepts.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure‑as‑Code using tools such as Terraform, Helm, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Good understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, policy enforcement, and least‑privilege access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and operational skills across Linux systems, networking, containers, and distributed systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document architecture, operational processes, and engineering standards.
- Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
Additional Skills and Technologies
- Some expertise with AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, Route53, S3, CloudWatch, ECR, Lambda, and managed Kubernetes services.
- Experience operating and securing Linux‑based systems including Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, or container‑optimized operating systems.
- Experience managing artifact registries and their lifecycle at scale, including governance, retention, replication, and security controls.
- Familiarity with multi‑tenant platform architectures and developer experience optimization.
