Job summary

Husky Technologies is seeking a Designer, Development - Mechanical Tooling for its Chennai (Guindy) operations. The role focuses on converting product definitions into robust tooling designs, with emphasis on part modeling, drafting, and BOM release within the product development lifecycle.

The candidate will use strong CAD skills, apply manufacturability principles, and collaborate across design, manufacturing, and supplier teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Convert product definition into design concept with minimal guidance
• Complete design execution applying design standards
• Complete part modeling and drafting; assemblies, BOMs, release to BAAN
• System level design with limited guidance applying design standards
• Contribute to design reviews
• Participate in or lead continuous improvement activities
• Work effectively within the Product Development process and Product Release process
• Design risk mitigation including participation or facilitation of DFMEA
• Cross discipline interaction and communication
• Participate in Detail Verification using knowledge of design standards

• Experience designing and building tooling and machinery with a focus on manufacturability is an asset
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stack up analysis experience is an advantage
• Hands on – ability to complete basic mechanical assembly tasks

Qualifications

Education

Post-secondary education (Bachelor's in engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience.
