About the Opportunity
GSG is seeking an experienced and innovative Design System Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will establish the design ethos, reimagine mobile experiences, and create scalable components that support both interim design needs and future rebranding efforts.
Responsibilities
- User‑Centered Design (UCD): Proficiency in applying UCD principles to create intuitive and user‑friendly experiences.
- Design System Development: Architect, create, and maintain a comprehensive design system, including reusable components, patterns, and guidelines.
- Establish and uphold a consistent visual and interaction language across all products.
- Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in every component and pattern.
- Component Creation: Design pixel‑perfect, scalable, and responsive UI components that integrate seamlessly into various platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure high‑fidelity implementation of design components.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of UX/UI design experience, with a significant focus on design systems and component libraries.
- Design System Development & Maintenance – Create, document, and maintain scalable design systems for web and mobile applications.
- Token Studio Management – Manage and maintain Token Studio, ensuring consistency and efficiency in Design token implementation.
- Design Token Creation & Support – Define, structure, and optimize design tokens (colors, typography, spacing, etc.) for seamless integration across platforms.
- Collaboration with Developers – Work closely with engineering teams to implement design tokens and ensure pixel‑perfect execution.
- Scalability & Consistency – Establish guidelines and best practices to maintain a unified design language across all digital experiences.
- Component Library Management – Develop and update reusable UI components, ensuring alignment with design tokens and system guidelines.
- Documentation & Guidelines – Maintain detailed documentation of design tokens, components, and usage guidelines for designers and developers.
- Usability & Accessibility Compliance – Ensure that design systems and tokens adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG) and best UX practices.
- Tool & Workflow Optimization – Stay updated with design system tools and workflows to enhance efficiency and collaboration between teams.
- Support & Governance – Provide ongoing support for design system adoption, conduct audits, and address feedback from cross‑functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and interaction design.
- Familiarity with front‑end development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks) to bridge the gap between design and engineering. Proven track record of creating and scaling design systems for enterprise or consumer‑facing applications.
- Expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent design software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance attention to detail with big‑picture thinking.
